this is so stupid, but how do i get nail polish of metal ?

welllll ... school is back tomorrow,
and i thought it would look cool to paint my padlock in nail polish :S
but it ended up kinda ugly, so im trying to get it off ,
nail polish remover is not working very well D:
its just a basic silver combination lock btw.
