This Is It

I went to see it this morning - loved it!
I was amazed to see how strong Michael seemed - the dance routines were just brilliant and he looked fit and well.
He was in fine voice and I was really moved by the whole film
Makes you really appreciate what a dreadful waste of life his early death was.
RIP Michael x

It shows how he works with dancers and put a show together. It shows him working with the whole team.

No narration, no Jackson interview, though there is interviews with some of the crew and dancers etc.

To be honest, yes it is money making but with most of the profit going back to the estate who cares. It was great to see Micheal like this, if gives you an in-site into all the work he was doing for the shows, it shows you how some of the promo viRAB would have looked for certain songs.

It was fantastic in my opinion and i will certainly be buying it as soon as its out on bluray.

Go and see it, you wont be disappointed.

Think some people are completely missing the fact that this was rehearsal footage and MJ wasnt putting 100% into it like he would have in the shows...hence the reason he wasnt pushing his vocals on certain songs such as Earth Song.

The live shows would have been incredible. Just incredible.

We have lost a man of immense talent who will never be replaced or bettered. Gutted that I will never get to see MJ live.

Such a huge shame that he never got the chance to prove all those people wrong who said he could no longer perform. Though this film clearly shows his voice was still top notch.

Apparently it's only in cinemas for 2 weeks, so they'll be rushing it out on dvd in time for christmas i'd imagine. A way to make money fast;)

Just been to see it... Excellent.

I didn't fully know what to expect, but have always been a fan of his music, so wanted to see it. It's a bit like a mini concert with behind the scenes stuff. Sadly the closest thing that any of us are going to get to see the tour.

I definitely think that it can only really be fully be appreciated in cinemas though. The sound was superb and felt like you were actually there.

If you like his music, it's a must. It goes to show how much of a great performer and perfectionist he was. I agree that the tour would have probably killed him. Most of the time in the rehersals he was going full pelt with the dancing, and did look quite knackered.

While I find it stupid normally in other films, I was pleased that quite a few people applauded at the end. Seemed to mark some respect.

RIP.

I have a feeling it will be in cinemas for longer than 2 weeks - I think that is a publicity thing. Get as many people through the doors as possible at the start.

Sony knew they had something great on their hanRAB, they paid tens of millions for it. They knew word of mouth would spread.

I expect in a few days we will get a press release saying its being extended due to "unprecedented demand"

Just seen it.

Thought it was really good how it was done the shows would of been amazing BUT I think Thriller should of been the end as it was a fantastic performance loved the zombie sequence also thought Smooth Crimminal was fantastic to. MJ danced good to it wasn't perfect but it would of got better as tge shows went on. The ending is sad :(

it's amazing what they got out of the footage but IMO it isn't perfect part of me disliked it but I thought it was great 8/10 or 7/10

It was a rehearsal

Michael Jackson rehearsing and Michael Jackson in the live shows are two completely different things. Look at what he did in this film and 10x and thats what we would have had in the live shows.

Just a massive huge shame that nobody ever got to see these shows.

Hmm.

It is what it is really, a rehearsal film, not a concert film. Would MJ have approved? Probably not.

It doesn't really prove anything about the concerts either way. On the one hand, he could still sing and dance, on the other, he looked completely knackered after Beat It, and the Earth Song vocal wasn't good.

In terms of the film generally, I thought the X factor style sobbing at the beginning was over the top and it didn't really have an ending. I loved the thriller sequence though.

In the end I guess, like Doctor Parnassus, we are left thinking about what might have been. Shame that.

RIP Michael.

Just got back from watching it. I think they definitely did the right thing making it, and it was very well put together. However it is a shame that most of the footage appeared to be from earlier rehearsals - the later full dress rehearsals that we saw little snippets of were of pretty poor picture quality, like the leaked clip of "They Don't Care About Us" you can see on YouTube. I don't get why it looks like someone filming a television screen. Do they not have the original tapes?

Gotta say I was amazed at how good MJ was though. He definitely looked perfectly healthy and was dancing almost as good as he ever was. I was also surprised he appeared to be singing live for the majority of the songs considering he mimed the whole of his last HIStory tour.

The cinema was PACKED. There were literally no seats left but people were silent for most of the time, except the odd laugh here and there when MJ said something cute. And people clapped at the end out of respect which was nice.

We were also treated to some young dancers who came and did a Thriller routine in front of the screen before the film started which was nice of the cinema to do.

This isn't my opinion, but I wonder if they considered it a bit tasteless given the circumstances?

Not been to see this yet, but going on the comments here and elsewhere I can't wait to go!

Great film, I really enjoyed it - especially seeing how the show was coming along, it would have been a corker.

Personally I don't know why people are saying he couldn't have got through 50 shows in 6 months in one location with a 3 month break in the middle - you get artists alot older than him doing year long world tours and they are still alive...

Went to see it earlier, fantastic film! i have to admit despite being a bit of a fan, i was surprised at how good his vocals were, i expected his voice to have been weaker than that:)
it's all very bittersweet though because it showed how truely amazing the concerts could have been:(

I love dit buy my friend posted this on my face book account as joke but also meaning what was said any thoughts any one?

I don't want to see dodgy DV footage salvaged from his stellar corpse vaults in a desperate bid to recoup concert cash blown up onto a massive screen for purely mercenary reasons. They've already said they'll make more from the DVD sales of this movie than they'd take at the O2 gate, and that is sick, as, sir, are you for going to see it and ... Read moreconsequently topping up their drooling coffers. It was their 50 date demand that killed him, and there you are throwing your money at them and loving them for it. Sick, sick, sick!
