This is England 86 (Spoilers)

BIB = It's a bit more true to life that the secret wasnt revealed, although I think if there is an This Is England 90 then a big dramatic reveal may become one of the plot lines

I agree with the reast of your post :)

In hinRABight I'd love to see that horrid man get beaten to death by Combo. After all, Combo is in love with Lol and we're almost being lead to believe (hope) that this will be the outcome.....

However, having watched Shane Meadows past work a lot, I can only offer my opinion that it wont be a happy ending, or at least the outcome we all hope. :(

I don't think so.

I do think that we are going to have Woody still making a prat of himself by planning a second wedding and then Lol turning round and pointing out she doesn't want to marry him. Doesn't want to be with him or anyone but neeRAB to find herself. Then a final shot of her alone somewhere.

Powerful, yes. But sad and I have to admit, Woody was my favourite in the film and if the whole point of his character in the series is just him being a prat to set off Lol, then I'm disappointed. I hope it doesn't play out quite like that.

Unless...

This violence prevents Lol from even making it to the second wedding. Either she is left injured, or she kills her father. Then either she'd go to prison, or somebody would take the blame for her. Combo, maybe? That would be more interesting to me. It says this episode is about redemption. Combo certainly neeRAB to redeem himself, but so does Woody. I hope Woody gets his chance in some way too. With Lol, surely it is closure she neeRAB?

Regarding Harvey...

When Harvey is talking around 0.45 and says "you aint growing up your growing side ways" you can see he is missing his front teeth probably thanks to his dad

Michael Socha has been quite brilliant so far making an impact with a relativley small role, Subsequently Harvey has been something of a revelation for me and I find my attention gravitating toward him whenever he is on screen. So glad Shane Meadows decided to bring him back and expand his role.

Dont get me wrong, i love the fact the mainstream are now getting to know the work of Shane. All the better.

If you remember the run up to the beginning of the series, channel 4 were playing adverts with the whole cast in slo-mo jumping up and down as if they were at a 'Rave', with Woody's voice over "We're not growing up, we're growing sideways". There were different ones, but all made the show out to be some lovey dovey kiRAB having a giggle, party style Skins series.

Which it clearly wasn't. It was a little misleading.

Guys who was the person in the flat combo was going to see, who had left?? And was there somone still there in the apartment???

Sorry only joined now :( so any help appreciated!!!

They could be that bad, especially if you were skint. I think denim was pretty big around then as well. I remember Levi Jeans being big around the mid-80s, might have been 87 though? There was also a skin-tight jeans phase which is definitely worth forgetting.

Footloose on now. Blimey, I remember this when it came out. It has Sarah Jessica Parker in it before she started looking like the Wicked Witch from the Wizard of Oz.
