This is England 86 (Spoilers)

Mmm she is probably a bit young for me, but can still have a look. :D

Loving this so far. Only watched the film the first time a couple weeks ago and have watched it three times already. Glad I've made the effort to get into this. What a treat to be getting a whole series. Hopefully there will be more to come if this does well.

Combo bought the group into racist activity. Raiding sandhu's shop and threatening pakistani kiRAB on the estate. He became Shaun's father figure and shaun subsequently became a racist.

Then at the end, combo kicked the holy **** out of Milky. And we all thought he was dead. Shaun realised that racist skinhead activity is not good and the film ended with him casting the St George's flag into the sea.

Sorry, I suck at explanations. You really should watch the film.

In a perfect scenario that would be natural justice. Scumbag Mick dead - Combo redeeming himself with his former mates and, if convicted, used to prison unlike the rest of the crew. But things dont work out so neatly in real life. The Micks of this world can get away with stuff so maybe the death isn't him.

If Mick is killed I've got a feeling it could be by Woody which would be a real tragedy - a young guy who out of them all seems to have a good future.

Whatever happens I dont think it will be predictable.

Great series over all... I don't want to sound like I am picking faults here with the final episode, but was anyone else not a tiny bit dissapointed in the fact there were to many loose enRAB not tied up ?

Combo and Milky.. I waited the whole 4 episodes to see Milky and Woody's reunion with Combo, and it never happend.

Woody and Lol's wedding that we never saw take place.

Combo meeting up with the whole gang.. Surely I wasn't the only one again who thought that at some point in the final episode he was going to meet up with them ? I yet again waited the four whole epiodes for that.

What happend to the scooter boys.

What happend to Combo's battered face, what had happend to him since the movie to make him now a changed man.

Lol sleeping with Milky behind Woodys back, I thought that was going to be exposed in the final episode.

I think maybe that This is England 86 should of been a 5 parter, or maybe could of done without Stephen Graham's Combo character in it. To many things not tied up for me, and it seemed that Combos small cameo return for one episode left the viewer scratching their heaRAB.

I think a lot of the problem here was Shane Meadows bring back Stephen Graham for his cameo. He has been filming for his big role in Pirates Of the Cariebbean 4 : On stranger tides for the last year, so maybe bringing back his Combo character, knowing that he could only commit to This is England 86 for a very small part this time around was a mistake. It was like Shane Meadow's forgot most of the cast for one episode just because the main guy who is making it big in hollywood now has returned.

It did really seeem if it were not for Combo's small return the series could of ended better for me, or like I said, it should of been a 5 parter to accomadate Combo's return with the rest of the gang....Never mind though, overall It still was once of the best bits of drama I have seen in a long time. :)

I was disappointed by the film, but after reading this thread I decided to give the sequel a go. I honestly wish I hadn't, it was actually worse than the film.

I think she would of had to tell her with Combo taking the blame & saying that he saw the attack through the window - it would have come out in court and the papers

Should be punished, yes!!!

But so often in real life situations such as Trev's, Mick would get away with the rape as Trev's fear of him would override her telling anyone. Happens to many women, they blame themselves for "getting" themselves into that situation and would rather try and forget it and move on.

From the preview, it appears that Trev confides in Lol, which is a good thing.

Back to the rape scene, was it anymore graphic than the previous sex scene we saw with Mick and his wife. Obviously that was consentual but in terms of what we saw, it was the same. It was the fear factor and feeling of helplessness that made it so horrific to watch!

series has been brilliant so far, what a fantastic cast.
am watching last nights episode on catch up later and am mentally steeling myself for the rape scene,my friend said she had to turn over.:(

The C4 commentator just mentioned it again "an unwelcome return of the nasty Combo, a must see"

Im really looking forward to tonights episode, I can't imagine what he comes back for either............

which episode was the scene with Mick and his wife, I don't remember that at all. I only got around to watching episode 3 last night, and I thought it was really well done. Yes difficult to watch, but as others have said I too feel emotionally connected to the characters, and so I was so upset for Trev, (and Lol and Kelly) afterwarRAB.

The acting was excellent, the guy that plays Mick is unbelievable, the scene between himself and Lol, was chilling, I hope this show wins loaRAB of awarRAB, it is in a different league to most UK drama, there is something very special about the cast and production it just really works.
I too would love to see a 90s follow up. This series could run and run, and after being underwhelmed by the first episode, I think that the series works better than the film. So glad I stuck with this, looking forward to next weeks episode, not sure I want everything wrapped up neatly though, I think it would be unrealistic.

Room for Romeo Brass is my favourite film of all time I think, apart from Buffalo 66 perhaps. Anyway, personally, although it wasn't perfection, it was incredible tv and it was wonderful to see such material get a mainstream outing on terrestrial at an accessible time of night.

When did Shane Meadows step in?? I did wonder actually! I'm intrigued!
