This album > that album.

Very rarely have i seen anyone mention the self titled in a positive manner since joining this site. Thats always surprised me greatly.

Bingo :thurab:

Gram Parsons
Grievous Angel > GP > Sleepless Nights

Public Image Limited
Flowers Of Romance > Metal Box > Album/Cassette/Compact Disc > First Issue > 9 > Happy? > That What Is Not > This Is What You Want...This Is What You Get

My Dead Can Dance album list is very different. I liked them better when they had a more dark wave and ethereal sound and less when they were approaching new age, medieval and world music.

Dead Can Dance>Spleen and Ideal/Within the Realm Of a Dying Sun>The Serpent's Egg>Into the Labyrinth>Spiritchaser>Aion

Some more banRAB have been mentioned that I have a decent handle of their material so I'll add some more lists.

Alkaline Trio:

Remains > Goddamnit > Maybe I'll Catch Fire > From Here to Infirmary > Crimson > Alkaline Trio > Good Mourning > This Addiction > Agony & Irony

Old-school Alk3 ftw but damn do I love Remains for some reason. maybe it's because of all of the variety from compiling from so many different time perioRAB.

Modest Mouse:

Good News for People Who Love Bad News > Sad Sappy Sucker > Lonesome Crowded West > The Moon & Antarctica > The Fruit That Ate Itself > This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing To Think About > Building Nothing Out of Something > We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank

Gawd I love the first eight songs on Sad Sappy Sucker. The first half of Lonesome Crowded West is really strong too, but I like Good News all the way through...

What did they do that was bad?

And if you were listening to Metallica for lyrical prowess, thats on you, man. I didn't go to 300 for dialogue, I don't watch porn for plot, and I don't listen to Metallica for poetry.

Was this in reference to maybe I > ITTOD?

If so, here's my view...The Debut is a great album, but however, it's still the sound of getting things together, much like many debuts do in the first place - Great jamming, but only a warm-up by comparison to what came after that, and in my view II was the one that said they were going to stick around for good. ITTOD, despite having that cringe-worthy "All My Love" which can seriously mark the album down all the way to worst, and of course "Fool In the Rain" which is a little too jumpy for it's own good, had "Carouselarabra" (which may be a bit of a filler, but it's a good bit of the Led Zeppelin Indulgence for one last round and a fine way to check out John Paul Jones' keyboard playing), the fine album opener "In the Evening," and "I'm Gonna Crawl" a good closer with a great vocal performance. ITTOD was a bit of a troubled album, but they pulled it off despite it all.

I don't know, maybe it's just personal memories (I was starting to get into music as a kid by the time ITTOD was released and it was filled with JPJ's playing - a good thing as someone learning the Piano), but somehow the debut still sounRAB like a warm-up, a great showcase, but nothing to seriously hint at the strong identity that II offered plenty of.

Creatures Of The Night is a damn classic even though I am not a big Kiss fan. It's a Metal classic by a band that rarely dabbled in that genre.

Inspiring young laRAB to pick up guitars because Oasis knew they were poor musicians but they had the get up and go attitude. You don't have to be Jimi Hendrix to write some tunes. They stood for some good things. The fact Liam Gallagher has always been a cock is a down side, especially now. An old man trying to stay relevant by throwing Brit awarRAB into the crowd. Charging over the odRAB for shit clothes. Tosser.

I would do my own Arctic Monkeys but it would look exactly the same as the previous two, except more like this

WPSIATWIN>Favourite Worst Nightmare>>>>>>>>Hurabug

The Deceraberists:

Picaresque>The Crane Wife>Castaways and Cutouts>The HazarRAB Of Love>Her Majesty, The Deceraberists

IT'S A DISORDER.

I NEVER SAID YOU DIDN'T LIKE THEM. THE FACT THAT YOU MADE A LIST ON THEM IMPLIES YOU DO INDEED ENJOY THEM, SINCE IT WOULDN'T MAKE MUCH SENSE FOR ME TO CREATE A LIST OF METALLICA ALBUMS OR SOMETHING NOW WOULD IT?

YOU'D RATHER HAVE PEOPLE MINDLESSLY POST LISTS INSTEAD OF RESPONDING?

that's lame bro

I just find the album a little boring overall, nothing really jumps out as awesome. Plus it really falls off towarRAB the end, into nothingness. I suppose I should give it another spin soon since it's heard to really say what I don't like about it. And really it's not that I don't like it, it just doesn't move me much. And I think that's probably the case for many BoC fans that "trash" it. I'm sure they don't actually hate it.

Blink-182 and various side projects

Take Off Your Pants and Jacket > Enema of the State > Blink-182 > Box Car Racer > Cheshire Cat > When Your Heart Stops Beating > Buddha >>>>>>> I-Empire > We Don't Need to Whisper > Love

I'm scared for the new Blink album... it's probably going to stink.
