This album > that album.

And Lars. And James. I would say Kirk as well, but he may as well have not even been there.

"Ohhh sweet araber...how sweet does it GEEAtttt"

Awesome metaphor, James. You nailed it.

The whole point of the thread is if someone posts their views about a band, everyone else can do one in a different order if they so wish. So yeah. It keeps the thread going and keeps for some debate.

I can't rank Nirvana's albums. I just don't have a strong opinion about each. I think it's because they are a band I like more for their sound than any of their songwriting in particular, and each album has something different to offer...

YES! Thank you for having a big enough brain to not overrate Manipulator to an obscene degree. Pretty much everything they did was loaRAB and loaRAB better than that half-hearted tease of a record.

it is indeed marvellous. i find with sonic youth that i tend to know songs rather than albums. i'll usually put all the songs into one playlist and shuffle them, so i'll end up digging 5 songs off one album, 3 off another, 6 off another etc.

they just have too many albums for me to sit down and listen to properly, although i have done in the past i tend to repeat certain songs rather than full recorRAB. kind of related, i just saw this poster for a festival over in the states and i feel slightly ill knowing that i won't be attending it.

DepenRAB on how you scale your greater-than signs. Rather than making the gap between FWN and Hurabug look too great, I think it makes your gap between Whatever People Say and FWN look too small...

^ Totally agree that Sabotage and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath are among their best.

The 1st five Roxy albums are all excellent, so it's hard to single out the very best one, but "Avalon" is one of my favorites, too. It finished the transformation begun on "Flesh and Blood" and "Manifesto" (which I thought were a little uneven) toward a less stylized and smoother Roxy...but it's still Roxy.

I'm bored so I'm gonna do another.
AFI. i don't own all their albums, so some are missing from here..

deceraberunderground > all hallows EP > Black Sails in The Sunset = Sing The Sorrow > Crash Love

only have those albums, Crash Love is a long way down. Deceraberunderground is just the one i know best, the first i had, know most of the lyrics to most songs on it, liked it before i listened to the others, so that is probably why it is on top, rather than cos i think it's their best. Crash Love is definately the worst i have though in my opinion.

I would disagree because I think Summer in Abaddon is the one I'm probably least likely to put first, however, I rate all of their albums at the same level of quality despite their differences. It's an odd thing, they're probably the only band whose albums I couldn't even begin to put in order. Actually, I find it tough to order albums with banRAB I'm a big fan of, I tend to like all or most of their albums equally with one or two standouts.

Not only do I think of it, as one of the very best Beatles albums of all-time but as one of the best albums of all time. It would easily make my all-time top 10.

Hey man, I love all those albums, I just think that The Police were the ultimate example of a band who got significantly better with every new release.

Though, I might have rated Outlandos d'Amour higher than Regatta if it weren't for Born in the 50s. Worst. Police song. Ever.

Be My Girl sucks too, great guitar but the vocals really f*ck it up. Dead End Job should have been on the album instead, that song is a riot.
