mean, "our image"? Is the word "God" plural? Just how many equal God?

Genesis 1:26
My guess is that mankind was originally created by beings from another planet, or dimension... that earth is just one big petri dish, or experiment.

Well, you're kind of on the right track, but then you fall apart with the whole alien thing.

The use of the words "we" and "our" lose a little bit of their connection with newer translations of the bible; since an important word has been removed. That word is "elohim".

In older translations (20+ years) there is a reference of yahweh speaking to the elohim (this is what "us" and "we" references). This word, when translated, means "brethren" or "pantheon". It is a plural word, and in this context, refers to other gods. It's only in religious traditions that there is an apologetic explanation for the word being plural: god is SO powerful and great that he can only be referred to as a plural being.

You can find older copies of the bible, to see this for yourself. Editting is a wonderful thing.
