I disagree. The "Alien Conspiracy" was getting tiresome to the point where the creator & writers of the show had trouble keeping things straight and coherent. It was fun in the beginning but eventually lost steam at the show's end. The first movie wasn't very good either.

The episodes dealing with the supernatural were more fun to watch. I'm glad that this new movie has nothing to do with "alien conspiracies".... at least that's what I've been told.

The legal issues aren't anything to do with the story, it's just that Chris Carter was pursuing Fox for unpaid syndication royalties at the time.
