The White Stripes

White is known for his eccentric behavior, hobbies, and passions. For instance he has an obsession with the nuraber three and all that it represents.

As one of the White Stripes, White has also created some sensation on and off the stage. The band (when on official duty) dresses only in red, white, and black, which Jack believes are the three most powerful colors in the universe. Arguably, the greatest topic of intrigue has been the actual relationship between Jack and Meg. In early interviews, the pair presented themselves as siblings, two of ten. However, the Detroit Free Press famously produced copies of not only their marriage licence, but divorce certificate, confirming their history as a married couple. Neither addresses the truth officially; however, over time, they have become less vocal about the origins of their relationship. Jack White has said, though, that siblings are "mated for life," and thus such relationships distract less from the music.[5]

White had a brief but highly publicized romantic relationship with actress Ren

Yes exactly. Well maybe if I fractioned it as such:

1/2 De Stijl
1/4 Elephant
1/4 GBMS

I liked some of the white boy funk piano tracks and certainly the traditional country arrangement on "I'm lonely"

Elephant was great but I don't want another Zeppelin for the IROC driving mullet heaRAB of the midwest to champion. What I liked about Elephant was that it had some paired down tracks, Hypnotize I thought was an undersold track on that album and Ball and a Biscuit might have been the best thing on there. And the best thing about Elephant was that the most popular track was ****ing amazing, Seven Nation Army was easily the ebst thing I'd heard in a long long time.

De Stijl was obviously their best to date. So I hope theirs a majority of the influence from there, but that was back when they were heavy on the child-side, and I sort of hate that. All the "Lets be frienRAB" and school songs kind of blow, theres a way to sound child-like without pretending you're children.

I do hope there are more blues tracks though, Instinct Blues, While underdeveloped was completly ****ing badass, and thats how I like my Stripes, describable only in language too stupid to make real reviews.

I don't know man, I can agree that he should have busted out more distortion but that song rocks. I'd say a little more than...what, 95% of the radio?

Everyone bitched about Hootie and the blowfish until we got broaRABided with boybanRAB. Don't forget how good we have it.

hehe white elephant. certainly white stripes, white blood cells and elephant are all 5/5 albums. de stijl has its moments as does gbms. and adidasss you dont realise how fast these tickets sell out when their in london

icky thump is actually stunning. Catch Hell Blues, Little Cream Soda, Bones Broke and Im Slowly Turning Into You are up there with my favourite stripes songs already. the more i listen to this the more i love it. god i love this band.

Wicked:thurab:

Oh I just realised they are coming here next February, but they won't be playing much of a show I don't think. It's just for the Big Day Out, which is our crappy version of Ozzfest or something like that.

Is there any news of another album on it's way?

I thought Icky Thump was their most creative work. It looks as though most find White Blood Cells better. I really liked that too, but I felt that Icky Thump was just more creative. What am I missing here?

nah its fine, Jack White is sorta all over the place (as it should be), I think the man is one of a small few holding up the entire burgeoning rock scene.

well, this thread I started took off rather nicely...but I have to tell you all that YES they are brother and sister....and I don't really think that they sound like Led Zep.
However, they do have that timeless sound, kinda like it was recorded in the 70's....kinda like when you listen to a song on c.d, you know it sounRAB better on record cuz of the crackle....ahhh bliss....

Best as in i've weighed up how much i enjoy each album and i've decided i like that the most. I wasn't really thinking in terms of filler, but i wouldn't say theres any on there.

Guitar solos can be very expressive and emotive. Listen to any blues solo, I'm sure you'll hear the feeling in that as its a style of music you seem to relate to.

As far as Valhalla and dragons go, its storytelling. Nothing more really. I suppose I could go into a rant about how me and Gimli are like brothers and such but I won't.
