The Ultimate Hipster Playlist / Good Albums that Suck Because You Exist

Why is it being a jerk not to conform to the standard model of sexuality? Why is there a need to and why should it bother anyone that he doesn't?

I don't think he's confused about his sexuality either. I think he simply doesn't see the "heterosexual/homosexual" dichotomy as valid. Perhaps you object to the term "fourth gender," but it doesn't seem like a term that implies superiority. Just a tongue-in-cheek way of saying that there are more ways to be than society claims.

Yeah people like it when they have an album they enjoy but a lot of people don't know about it or it isn't appreciated. It makes them feel special and superior in their own little world.

And then thanks to a review, or something similar, suddenly everyone is aware of it, or are rating it highly. They no longer feel special and even begin to be afraid of being lumped in with the 'moronic masses'.

Watch this space for the fans of In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

I read Pitchfork when I'm bored, but I don't take them seriously at all. Their reviews are full of shit and they rate boring albums highly, and good albums poorly.

That Brent Dicrescenzo son of a bitch, or whatever his name is, aside from writing the most pretentious reviews ever, gave De-Loused In The Comatorium a fucking 4.9.

Although, this review made me laugh.

"Clara Thompson: Uh, yes, Mr. Bush. Do you think that At the Drive In's new album, Relationship of Command, matches the intensity of the band's live show?

George W. Bush: Thank you, Ms. Thompson. As Governor of Texas, I'm proud of these young men from El Paso. I take both young people and the arts very seriously, as I think my record shows. But, uh, the question here, really, is: who do you trust, and who do you think will get things done? I am a uniter, and not a divider. Also, you can't hear At the Drive In's afros on record."

You tried to insult him by saying "has never had a real relationship with a woman" I mean really. Of all the things you could say you make a dig at his sexuality? I realize this thread is just your egocentric trolling by that kind of misogynistic bullshit is not only tasteless but offensive and unnecessary.

Wow... I am honestly shocked. I used to have some respect for their ratings. Well, I guess it's back to solely using RYM ratings as reference then.

i think this thread could be summed up as follows:

"i hate pitchfork and anyone that takes their over the top reviews of a select group of albums too seriously"

(list ten albums here)

more than somewhat

MUCH more than somewhat

after reading a couple of these threaRAB
however
you wouldn't want any newbies to feel like they're being attacked
especially since you're doing this tongue-in-cheek :yeah:

and Mr. Sam?
you may consider me suitably offended 'on some scale'

Of course I'm insulting his sexuality. Morrissey is so fucking full of himself that he somehow feels that he doesn't fall into normal gender roles, that he's somehow above everyone else's sexual preferences. He once stated that he was "bored with men...and bored with women." I don't really give a shit if he's hetero, homo, bi, or asexual. But you gotta pick one of the above. I got no beef with Boy George, do I? Who wouldn't make fun of someone who professes to be "fourth-gender"?

You're clearly taking this too far, Ethan. I respond with good heart and good humor and you make me out to be some kind of mysoginistic bastard. (Which I'm not).
