Thanks for everyone's comments on the film. Im thinking I should read the book and then see it. Lol. Maybe I'll just wait for dvd on this one.

Same here. I pretty much read it to prepare for the movie since it was filming already and now I'm so anxious to see it.



:sigh: It really did! Lifehouse is a great band and the song captures the feel of the movie so well.



lol I teared up watching the trailer for My Sister's Keeper. All the tear jerkers def mean that August is coming around the corner. lol

I'm about to head out to see it now. I also hope it doesn't end up disappointing.

I saw it today. I haven't read the book, but I read the synopsis on Wiki and I have a friend who's told me everything so I got a good gist of it :lol: It was really different than the book :nod: And definitely more fast paced. They left a lot of stuff about Henry's past and Clare's past out.

I thought it was good, but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I did cry; I tried not to but it was too sad. :(

I thought the chem between Rachel and Eric was good, but the fact that it was so rushed made it come off less than as epic that it should have.

I'm super psyched to see this movie. I was initially pretty nervous since it's one of my favorite books, but after seeing the trailer I'm alot less apprehensive.

Can't wait to see it. :blinkie:
 
I'd say a bit of both, for me. There were moments the author described things in details, but not the way I would've liked, or was hoping she would. I guess, since it was a love story after all, I was expecting certain parts to be more...emotional/romantic, but they just came off as technical/matter-of-fact. Not to say it was a bad read or anything; it wasn't. It's just...something tells me this will be a rare instance where I'll prefer the movie to the book, if just when it comes to the composition of the love story.

Yeah. It's definitely looking like the movie will focus more on the Henry/Clare love story than anything else. Which, I don't mind at all, since I do adore that love story. But I did like the extra stuff with Henry in the book, which I'm sure won't make it into the movie, since it doesn't really add to the actual love story. I really liked Henry. :)
 
The book was one of the best I've read in years so i'm looking forward to seeing what they did with it, but I'm trying not to hope too much. The trailer looks good though.
 
Ok, so saw the movie tonight and I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. I love romance movies and I LOVE to cry during movies - this one hardly made me cry. Though I could hear people crying. I adore Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana, especially Rachel, but I didn't really feel their chemistry. And I got confused, and I missed some stuff because I was trying to figure out where he was just from or something like that. I really need to read the book. But overall, I liked it a good amount. Glad I saw it.
 
I think the movie will be more focused on Henry/Clare than the book. I do have to say that I love that the book was about Henry's problem and his love affair was one of the elements.

But it looks like the movie will be more of a love story. That's cool too. :love:
 
How so was it written "clinically"? Do you mean the book is extremely technical in its description of some things, like say, maybe Michael Crichton was in with description in his novels, or was just emotionally-detatched in its illustration sometimes? I haven't read the book yet, I'm torn between waiting to see the movie or running to my not-so-near library and hoping they have a copy to read.
 
Exactly. When they showed Henry on the floor with the gunshot wound, I was like, wait...what...that was fast. Even though it didn't actually go down like that in the book.

I really hated how there was no development in the characters. It really made it harder for me to understand them, and become emotionally attached to them, like I did in the book.
 
I watched the film last week and I was extremely disappointed with how rushed it was. I thought the acting was amazing but because it was so rushed I couldn't get into the love story between Henry and Clare.
 
I didn't love the book. I just felt the author could've written it more romantically than clinically, which is how so much of it came out to me. But I did/do love the love story that is Henry/Clare. I find them utterly breathtaking. :sigh:

And I just found out the guy who adapted this from book to film is the same guy who wrote Ghost. Ghost is only my favorite romantic drama [movie] ever [and as much of a romantic as I am, I rarely seem to like romantic dramas]. So I'm even more stoked for this movie now! :love:
 
I loved this movie. I read the book before I saw it, but I still thought that the movie was really good.
