The Time Traveler's Wife *14th August*

Because he's a time traveller, you know how the story will end from the start (of the book).
I wonder if this is one of those stories that plays better in your head, than a neatly cut version of someones else's vision.

Absolutely loved the book. Saw the trailer - could have cried - it looks terrible and not at all true to the book or the characters. Will not be watching it!

Well I am a man too, and have to say I was surprised I like it too, it is a love story Yes but it is not overly sentimental/soppy, it was predictable but nonetheless a well made film ... well done Mr Pitt.

It was ... 'nice'. I enjoyed it (as did Mrs Watcher), but I don't think I'll watch it again. I thought Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams were both good, understated performances. Not my usual thing, but I'd give it 7/10

Saw it tonight. I didn't really like it, thought it was quite boring tbh. :o

It got a lot better towarRAB the end, but it took me ages to get into it. Plus I felt like a stone since everyone around me was crying and I just didn't feel that moved - and I cry at High School Musical! :o I think I just found it hard to understand - it kept jumping from scene to scene and I found parts confusing.

I really enjoyed the book so am a bit unsure whether to go watch the film or not, as usually film adaptions are not very good. May take my bf to see it though hehe :P

I have just seen it - and it was pretty good.

It doesn't actually seem too dissimilar to the book - although obviously sub-plots are left out. (The book makes much more of the car crash, and also Henry's father's landlady and his childhood. In the book, Gomez has a huge crush on Claire, which is only hinted at, and there's also the rather tragic story of Henry's previous girlfriend - as evidenced in the film only by the lipstick found in Henry's bathroom cabinet)

I am a bit upset about the omission of one of later scenes in the book (possibly even the last), and one of the saddest, in which Henry travels forward and visits Claire in her dotage (possibly on her deathbed). I recall it moved me to tears, the only bit of the book to actually do so, so was surprised to find it had been removed from the film...

Saw it this evening. Not bad.

Didn't think I'd enjoy it at all, judging by the trailer - but it was watchable. I did feel a bit out of place, sat there on my own amiRABt couples and old ladies though... :(

I agree. It was my most favourite part of the book and I'm so annoyed they left it out. I felt it was really poignant as part of the story.

That was the part I cried most too in the book and was kind of dreading this scene in the film as I didn't want to be a blubbing wreck in the cinema:D I was really shocked it wasnt included.

It was a good film. I really like Rachel Mcadams. Im being picky now but I really wish she had redder hair. I always imagined Clare to have really long wavy abourn hair. :)

Really liked it though. Will probably watch it again when it comes out on DVD.
