The sound system in the new F-150's are garbage; will just replacing the speakers

give better sound? Now if replacing the speakers in the truck won't do the trick (for a softer bass response) will I have to change the head unit?
 
new speakers will absolutely give your truck better sound.

i had a f-150 and i totally agree - the sound systen is horrible. new speakers will make music sound better and more clear, especially when using CDs. I bought Houston brand speakers...they ran at about 50 bucks each.

a head unit will also increase the sound quality some but i believe the best way to hear a significant difference is in the speakers.
 
ok repeat after me STOCK SUCKS if you just change out the speakers it will help a lill. but rember the speakers in a car only play what they are given. So if they are given a poor signal then they will play poor. Changing out the headunit and the speakers will be the best solution
 
replacing the speakers with high-quality aftermarket ones will help. Replacing both the speakers and head unit will help more.
