A new episode airs tonight at 8 PM Eastern. Its also the first episode from Season 21, in terms of production order. Here is the synopsis:

For once, an episode of The Simpsons I'm looking forward to. Maybe will get to see more of an emotional side to Bart here. I always felt sorry for him on this too, I mean my family has two sisters and one brother, I'm sure at one point he wanted another brother like Bart here. I dought they'll give him one, or it'd change The Simpsons forever if they did.

At this point, i actually prefer to see new episodes where Bart is an antisocial mennace over episodes where he is emotional. Because for the last 10 years or so, Bart's bratty antics has consistantly been completely overshadowed by Homer's jerkassness. In earlier seasons, Bart used to be the resident "evil team member" of the Simpsons household (in other words, he was the most selfish and cynical of the five main characters, The Simpsons equallent to South Parks Cartman or Family Guys Stewie if you will), while Homer was very much a lovable oaf who only caused chaos and destruction due to his stupidity, not due to intentionally doing so (in contrast to Bart who, much like Bender from Futurama, would never miss an oppurtunity to do wreck havoc simply because he enjoyed it).

This older dynamic worked a lot better, because Homer and Bart had different comedic roles: Bart was the antisocial one and Homer was the stupid one. Since about season 11 though, Homer has been both the antisocial and the stupid one, and Bart has pretty much just been "like Homer, but less so". Antisocial, but not as antisocial as Homer. Stupid, but not as stupid as Homer.

And all to often, Bart more or less just acts these days like one out of the three (or four, if we count Maggie, despite not having much of a role at all) "sane" family members who serve as counterparts to the insane Homer.

Isn't this kind of like that episode from the early seasons when after Homer forgets to pick up Bart from soccer practise, a man became Bart's mentor offically known as a "big brother". In retaliastion Homen got himself a forign boy to be his "little brother."

Not really. That's about Bart finding a good father figure, this has nothing to do with that.

Now, as for the "evil twin" Treehouse of Horror story...

LOL when Bart used a balloon to create static electricity to power his Itchy and Scratchy DVD.

Mario Bros! Sideshow Bob! Wright Brothers? Eli Manning??

What type of dream is this?

Hey, I just noticed something.
Does Bart have new clothes? His shirt is darker and it looks like he has new jeans and sneakers.

I like the look.
