"The Simpsons Movie" Talkback (Spoilers)

i will agree with what was said before the people who would repeat the one liners in the theatre were quite annoying as well as the little kids who memorized the trailers it seems like a nation wide epidemic lol its happening everywhere

I'm from Puerto Rico too. I saw it in english at Plaza las Americas. the movie was great. If you saw it in Spanish.. did it kept the same Voices from the series spanish dub?

Loved the movie. It was refreshing seeing The Simpsons on the big screen with an audience that wouldn't stop laughing.

Russ Cargill is by far one of the funniest guest characters ever on the series. Every scene he was in was hilarious.

To answer Powerzord's question, yes the Spanish dub has the same voices from the last seasons of the TV show.

Best moments: (I saw the Spanish dub so quotes may not be 100% accurate)

- "We'll hire 10 rude guys and then we'll hire 10 weak guys to make the rude guys look even more rude!"
- "I have a giant drill that spits acid and can destroy everything! It's right... out... there..."
- Martin beating the crap out of the bullies.
- Hans Moleman's death. Didn't see it coming at all.
- The jab at "Titanic"
- "I WILL NOT ILLEGALLY DOWNLOAD THIS MOVIE"

DOCTOR NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!!!!

Sob.

Bye, Dr. Nick. Goodbye.

Sniff.

Huh? Oh, yeah, awesome movie! The Lisa subplot didn't seem to do much, but that moment with them on different sides of the bubble was fantastic. Also great was Bart's continued disdain for Homer until the moment when Bart sees a chance to carry a bomb. Favorite moment?

Cargill: I want ten thousand hard guys. And ten thousand soft guys to make the hard guys look even harder. And I want them arranged as follows: hard, hard, soft, hard, soft, soft, hard, soft, hard, soft, soft, hard, soft, hard.
EPA Soldier: Sir, I think you may have gone mad with power.
Cargill: Of course I have. Have you ever tried going mad without power? It's boring, no one listens to you.

There was something very Hank Scorpio about that scene. But wait, there's the scene where Flanders disses his son's curly hair, or the scene with the bizarro Simpsons, or where Marge tells Homer goodbye, or where Reverend Lovejoy says, "As we mourn the latest rock band to die in our town" . . .

You know what? Screw picking a favorite moment, it was all great! I'm off to have mutliple fangasms now, excuse me.

You had a midnight showing? No place in my state had one, and i was really looking forward to make this movie my first midnight one too..

Actually, i forgot to mention how i liekd Maggie killing another person

So ya, Box Office Mojo reports 29 million opening Day gross, which is 17th on biggest sngle day for movie. Go Simpsons!!

Ive never been a big Simpsons fan, but the movies was enjoyable from beginning to end for me, i just find it rather... perfect or close too than the crap ive dealt with this past year in movies.

This movie should get something next year at the Oscars...

Thnx for answering.. I asked cause' I read the VA's were fired or something like that. About your quotes, yes they are %100 accurate, the spanish dub is usually very accurate

At my theater, the staff threatened to shut down the movie if they saw cell phones or any talking. That totally shut them up except when they laughed.

As for the movie itself, it was spectacular. Everything felt classic, except for Homer's jackassness. The voice acting was spot on for the most part. Bart had character for once, and Homer finally regained his lovable oafness at the end. While I've been complaining about the whole "Marge leaves Homer" plots, but I actually FELT this one, and playing "Why Do Birds Suddenly Appear" after that was amazing, and made Homer realize the wrongs he had done.

Ties with Grindhouse for greatest movie of the year so far! I mean, this has Spiderpig in it. SPIDERPIG! The MPAA isn't kidding when they say "irreverent humor throughout", because this was very irreverent and very, very funny throughout the whole movie! Only 2 problems with it: Ranier Wolfcastle doesn't get to say anything about Schwartzenegger, and the Boob Lady is mistakenly listed as Medicine Woman in the credits. Other than that, a masterpiece! They should cancel the show now and spend their time making more movies of this calibur. Obey Maggie, you writers! A/****
