The Simpsons - "Million Dollar Maybe" - Talkback [1/31]

The local news (here in Connecticut) also just did a quick interview with Peggy Black, where she revealed that he's also a new supervisor at the power plant.

That is, if they keep him around past this one gag (she was just as surprised as anyone about what happened to Ricardo).

Haven't they also done "Bart/Lisa Gets a _" several times?

This episode was pretty decent. You can really tell that the show's budget has been cut though. Too bad.

I loved that ending. Very sweet and genuine. There is no cartoon couple on earth as awesome as Homer and Marge.

I hope we get a Bart and Lisa team-up soon. I really liked the eps where they worked together, like when Bart was trying to help Krusty, and Lisa contributed her scholarship to the quest, but finally drew a line: "Bart, I'm NOT going to learn Ancient Hebrew!" :D But my favorite Bart/Lisa ep is the one where he destroyed her Thanksgiving centerpiece, and he was unrepentant at first, then finally broke down and apologized. There is no better cartoon brother and sister like Bart and Lisa.

Haha, did they actually interview after the fact? Her over-enthusiasm about this character she created sounds like something the writers hated, as if they had to bow to her every whim. (I mean, plant supervisor?! What kind of Mary Sue did she create?!) I'd love to see her face when he died...

How did it look the they had a lower production cost? I didn't notice it looking like anything different.
I loved the Zii thing because my brother had been playing the Wii all day yesterday.
Good episode in my opinion.

I thought this was episode was great! I honestly thought it was consistently funny, from the Zii parody, to old people jokes, to the black mail, etc.

I don't notice any budget cuts really. It seemed pretty good to me.

Overall: 9/10.

-sigh- You guys really DO complain a lot. I've hardly seen any positive posts in this thread.

I don't really give a crap for the episode titles, because the only time I see them named is here and on the DVD. To me, it's the episode that counts.

Also, the ending was very refreshing, having Marge quickly forgive him, and that's why Simpsons>Family Guy. Because they know how to show a good relationship, and likable characters.

In your opinion. A lot of people say that Family Guy was way better back then than it was now. Same for Simpsons, but I still think Simpsons>Family Guy.

Well, for people who like badly-written characters, they'd like it. Family Guy can be funny sometimes, but my idea of a good comedy is likable characters put into light hearted funny situations, not brutes put into abusive situations. But I can't argue, because everyone has different tastes and opinions.

Don't waste your time arguing with him he'll try to come up with a million reasons why he's right. Although I agree with you about your counter-points to those criticizing the episode.

I thought it was a great episode. I found the "Zii" scenes the most enjoyable.
Game system in the dishwasher... That's bound to void the warranty.

If I was a voice actor, I'd have trouble keeping a straight face reading some these 'scripts' nowadays. No wonder they keep asking for huge raises every few years. ;)

The episodes in this group are:

Bart Gets an F (season 2)
Bart's Dog Gets an F (also season 2)
Lisa Gets an A (season 10)
Bart Gets a Z (this season)
