The Simpsons Long-Time Opening to be revised.

So does that mean the actual episodes will also be in high def, or just the intros? It would seem silly to have a 16x9 intro and cut to a 4x3 picture once the episode begins.

At any rate, it's about time. Let's hope other animated programs follow suit.

Or maybe it will be a whole lot worse...

As much as revising openings seems intresting, why don't they do the same for the entire episodes, or is that all too time consuming?

The last time Simpsons changed the opening were for introducing the characters from the movie and the British live-action opening. It would be funny to see the series in widescreen. I wonder if the series will be in widescreen if the show goes Blu-Ray?

Trust me, they freakin' will.

Sorry, I like the first Family Guy seaons better, when the other characters were likeable.

EDIT: Also, because it's the current FG writing staff, like Sketch said below.

I'll kinda miss the old opening, but I've already got it 248 times on DVD, so I guess it's not too big a loss. In any case, I'll be interested to see what the new opening entails. I'm guessing they'll probably remove Bleeding Gums Murphy from the line of characters that Bart skateboards past on the sidewalk, for one thing.
