The Simpsons Long-Time Opening to be revised.

What's kind of sad about that is, it proves that they aren't keeping the show going to continue exploring the characters and story possibilities - they just want to have the most episodes.

Say, not to steer this too off-topic, but I haven't watched any new episodes in a while - is Al Jean still the showrunner? 'Cause if so, I think it's high time he stepped down and let someone else take over for a while. If the show's going to go on this long, the least they can do is cycle the writers' room like they used to.

Still, it couldn't hurt to put someone else in charge for a bit. It's clear that Jean's storytelling style has become bland in recent years, and the show could benefit from someone with a looser hand. Of course, it'd also have to be someone who knows what makes "The Simpsons" good.

The first person I can think of is George Meyer. He's been with the show since 1989 and has a very clever wit about him, and I think he'd make a great showrunner if he had the chance.
