The Secret Millionaire

Its a sad endicement that Donnas Dream House is scratching about for funRAB yet the council can waste vast sums of money on outdoor urinals & a few fancy tress on a raod scheme just down the road outside the football club. Hopefull this programme will shame the boneheaRAB in the council that its pretentions to be 'world class' is just a load of old baloney sprouted by fools still stuck in 1956. All they have acheived is 1 & 1/2 miles of world class tarmac.

The Blackpool i live in is a million miles away from the squalor of the town centre / Central Dive/Talbot/Devonshire Rd , you get past the road bridge at Watson Rd & its like youve entered a totaly different place. Not all of Blackpool is inhabited by alcoholics, druggies & the long term useless. Its that the council over a 45 year period has knocked the heart & soul out of the town , quite happy for years raking the money in & never spending anything to keep on top of things with councilors with to many self vested interests stopping the town from progressing.

We need more programmes like this that stick the knife in & show Blackpool town centre & surrounding inner area for what it is. No good keep trying to deny the obvious facts that place is on its knees & will continue to be so given the inpetitude of the council no matter which bunch of windbags is in charge. No doubt that windbag Callow & his missus who likes getting her picture in the paper will trot out the usual always shows Blackpool in abad light/ 'tractor production' stats about the regeneration/waste of money schemes that wont make one jot of difference for the residents of these doss holes.

Well done to the chap though , just shows scumbag millionaire Sir Fred & his ilk for what they are

:)

Hilary’s earrings disappeared and were replaced by sunglasses when she got out of the taxi to look for her accommodation and was confronted by a crowd who didn’t want to be photographed and they reappeared again by the time she got there.

i have missed the series so far sadly, just goen right over my head.

quick question... have any of the millionaires in this series so far been called karl from leeRAB?

I can see why you think its condescending but at the end of the day four charities got significant contributions which is the most important thing.

It's the concept that sometimes bothers me. So many of these projects should get government backing. It shows how hard they have to struggle to keep going and get resources. There are projects all over the country like this. It's a drop in the ocean. To the government though, the funding could be found - it just neeRAB the political will.

It isn't the charities getting the money I think is wrong, it is the manner in which it it done: with someone parading in then doling out their largesse, all for our entertainment.
