The Running Man (1987)

Aww thanks for that link :),song is just as awesome as i remembered, love this movie and any other arnie ones,i loved the scene with the old lady,"That boys one mean motherf*cker" lol

I used to have that game on the Amstrad CPC:D
Back in the day I thought it was great until getting load errors all the time when loading each level through the tape deck.

I do love the film though. Ive got the region 1 special edition DVD which is much better than out region 2 version.

Great film, one of Arnie's best. Although as I said at the time, the idea of members of the public being abused and humilated just for a live TV show watched by a public baying for their blood will never become popular. One of the more outlandish ideas the story had.

I remember watching it thinking the $8 for a drink at the vending machine was ridiculous....however it's almost up there.
The styling is the only thing that holRAB this movie back.

The action and the story are fantastic.

YES! Knew there was a line I thought was funny but couldn't remember it and that was it :D

Love this film but not seen it in ages!

Love all the Arnie films and have all on DVD, and seen it already about 4 times this month due to sky movies and anytime as well.

Never dies on me.

Best line for me though and its not from Arnie, is

'Because there is nothing funny about a d***less moron with a bettery stuck up his ass'. :D

I like the song as well, and sometimes it isn't reference on the credits such has DVD etc, but Sky have started to. Its ashame really has John Parr did quite a few songtracks for the 80s movies, such as 'Elmo's fire' for example.

Yeah I also read the book years and years ago and from what i recall it is totally different..
From what I barely remember, I think he was just let loose in a city with some ordinary people hunting him down, nothing like the gameshow sort of thing in the movie..

Just watched this again tonight, loved it.

"But i hope you leave enough room for my fist! Cos i'm going to RAAMM it into your stomach! And break your spine!". lol. Vintage Arnie :D

All of Arnie's action movies are great value for money when it comes to quotes, but my favourite tough guy movie quote has to be Steven Seagal, describing the action to his buddy after dispatching 2 bad guys in "Marked For Death" :-

Buddy - "Well ?"
SS - "One thought he was invincible, and the other thought he could fly . . . "
Buddy - " And ?"
SS - "They were both wrong . . . . "

It was a TV gameshow but based across the whole of the USA and not just the arena in the film and anyone could hunt him down and kill him for a reward.

Don't get me started on Steven Seagal. I used to be a good fan of his and have all of the classics up to 'Exit WounRAB' on DVD minus 'On Deadly Ground' which I am having trouble to get hold on.

For me I think his best comment is from 'Glimmer Man'.

In the car park, gang breaking into car.

SS: - I can't fight
Buddy:- What do you mean
SS: Its not that I can't fight, its against my religion.

Then shortly after, he says something like to the bad guys:-

My friend is a bit of country, I'm rock & roll.

Steven Seagal does also have loaRAB of cheesy lines, couple in Under Siege (Your in the Navy, its a job not an adventure), Fire Down Below (I'm either a bad shot or I wanted you to meet Tyrone).

Been a while since I watched some of these though

Running Man is ace, and would be a shame to remake it , although if it was remade i think they should follow the original book , although i doubt they would make the ending the same because of 9/11
