The Road to Corrie (BBC4)

Having read the first two and last pages, I'm extra gutted to have missed this. Has anyone got any ideas when it's going to be shown again? My TV guide says it's not on this week.

It was the original soundtrack. The programme was made by ITV for the BBC (the irony!!!). I think only a few scene were recorded for posterity, the first one being the first scene: Ena walking into the corner shop and introducing herself to Florrie Lindley...

Doris speed didnt live up to her name. Lazy and couldnt be bothered to learn her lines. Will just a look do! Infact a look from her did suffice at times. Pity the scriptwriter though.
Was just like a brit movie. Well made i thought.

The "period pictures" at the end didn't make it more convincing for me. A photo of a load of people sat round a table in order to identify the Granada TV Board Members. I wasn't sure if they were "real" or not either.

Crikey, even the costume woman used to be in Corrie!

I thought I recognised her. (never forget a face from telly!) She worked in the cafe in 1989 with Gail, Phyllis and Alma (another from 1989! lol) her name was Christine. She was only in for a few months.

UK Gold never showed Corrie, not as far as I remember anyway. They usually show BBC programmes. They used to show EE. Granada Plus as was, used to show Corrie. They showed them for years, starting from May 1976 episodes (I taped those and still have them) which I think started in 1999, something like that.. I think they got to about the mid 1994 episodes before Granada Plus stopped existing..

During that time, though, they showed loads of the old B/W episodes from the 60's usually themed. Y'know, like wedding epiusodes, or Christmas episodes or even the first few episodes, or episodes featuring Elsie, or featuring Annie ...stuff like that.

I bought a DVD a few years ago that had the first 6 episodes on, and in the 60's boxset, the first 8 episodes are on that.
