The Road to Corrie (BBC4)

It's almost certain to be shown on BBC2 and will be repeated on BBC4 over and over again.;)
I'm glad I watched it but where's Davina?

at the end was that the original audio from episode one? I wonder if they were not allowed to show the episode due to it being ITV show?
I agree with most people here that it was really good and loved Jessie Wallace!

I only "caught up" with this yesterday, (my sky + is bulging atm), and thoroughly enjoyed it.

As a Shadows fan, I have to say they brought the era into focus, and although too young to remember the first few year of CS, the brassy tones of Jessie Wallace were on a par with ole Pat herself.

A really nice touch was James Roache playing his dad!..:D

For some reason I thought this would be boring, but from the first minute it was great entertainment.....

Only 1 problem with it!. And that was I thought it wasnt long enough.....

I don't think I've ever known an hour and 10 minutes - specially with no adverts - go so fast!

I haven't watched Corrie for years but I watched it most of my life, and this has been Brilliant!

Without wishing to turn this into another Coronation Street thread, I was thinking about the mix of ages in the current soap, and I think it's quite good, ranging from kids, young adults, the middle-aged and up to some right oldies.

But what you said about the times changing is true: if an old woman tried to tell a teenage girl to stop getting plastered every night and sleeping with anything in trousers, she would be given pretty short shrift. The old have lost their power to terrorize the young. The current interfering nosey old woman is Norris, who is just a figure of fun, and certainly doesn't terrify anyone.

I really enjoyed this, thought it was only on for an hour and it seemed to be over so quickly, didn't realise it was actually 75 mins long. Absolutely brilliant production and provided such an insight - Jessie Wallace, Jane Horrocks and Lynda Baron were fantastic and extremely believable.
Weird seeing Casualty Paramedic Polly as Tony Warren's female friend - random casting but a good choice.

Really enjoyed this - bravo!

They sometimes show that clip where ena goes into the shop from the first episode so maybe the full episode exists. I thought they did it live back then didnt they after that episode...

The new producer has said that there's too many young actors in Corrie at the moment, and he has plans to address that.
