The return of "Sit Down, Shut Up" - Talkback

Technically, they (whoever "they" might happen to be) are not making new episodes; FOX is merely airing the remaining episodes that have already been made.

Also, I have to ask, if you dislike the series, why bother posting in an episode talk back for it at all?

Oh, good. Thats a relief. :anime:

And why cant i complain in this thread? It is a talkback, isnt it? Isnt the purpose of a talkback thread to discuss your opinions?

The purpose of a talkback is to discuss your views on the episode in question, not to state your disdain for the series in general. That could be construed as flamebaiting or trolling. Statements such as "This show is awful!" rarely (if ever) add anything constructive to any conversation. Why hate rant about a show you don't like when ignoring would be so much easier?

I've decided to just make this into one talkback, making things easier for those of us who want to stay up for the show, but don't want to create pointless threads.

In last night's episode, "The Taming of the Dude"...

This was a really funny episode. Lots of great jokes in this one. I like the plot of the bikini model's revenge on Hofftard, it was very unexpected. Seeing the faculty mess up trying to meet women was hilarious. Also, the gag with the bar's VCR was very funny.

The pillow fight club subplot was really interesting. I wish they showed more of the Miracle/Sue final battle, but what was shown was good enough. 9/10

Well, 7 more episodes left to air. I'm really going to miss this show. Hearing that it was originally going to air in the fall is even more infuriating. Now, we have to watch 1.5 hours of MacFarlane (I don't mind American Dad, it's been on a roll lately). I feel bad for this show and for those who tried to get their animated pilots the greenlight for Sunday night airing.

Finally a return of a good show.

If This Just In or The Goode Family wene't that vulgar, Than they could of make it.

Athough Freak Show should get the treatment this show is getting.

A slightly weak episode (terrific cold open, though), but still there were laughs to be found. Really liked Stuart nearly "calming" Ennis to death.

According to Wikipedia, this is the last episode of SDSU ever produced. So, basically the series (or as intended, season) ended on Larry running from a bunch of fat students wanting to beat him up. Sad.

With four episodes left, one will not be airing, as "The Wanda Sykes Show" premieres on November 7th. Why do I have a strange feeling that episode will be "Math Lab"?...

Yeah, I would've started up a second talkback myself, but I completely forgot that the show was back...

Oh well, one talkback for all 9 makes this a lot easier.

Just a note there's no new episode next week (the pilot episode will rerun instead). "Helen and Sue's High School Reunion" will air on Oct. 24

It was an good episode, I did like the A story with the Bikini girl wanting revenge on Ennis. And I lold's at Ennis's dating tips..like the chain of lies.
I kind of wish that the b-story with Sue and Miracle was expanded more and the two could've finished their fight.

Because they've been avoiding that epsiode like the plauge for some reason maybe?

It's content couldn't be any worse then the Family Guy episode "420", which aired last season that also had to do with illegal drugs.

Maybe if the new 12 Midnight Saturday episodes are a hit, a second season of Sit Down Shut Up could be produced for 2010 or 2011, just like Family Guy was reborn in 2005 after its 2002 cancelation thanks to DVD season set sales.

Be glad MAD TV is gone...

Eh, I would LOVE for that to happen but I doubt the ratings for this timeslot are that great. Especially considering the premieres of these new episodes aren't advertised at all by the network.

Best Case Scenario for this series is Adult Swim picks it up for reruns and it will become a lot more popular through that and we will get a nice DVD set.

This new episode was easily the best one so far, finally a plot that didn't concern Miracle and Larry getting together. Both the A & B plots tied up nicely together at the end. The saddest part is this is only the 5th or 6th episode and the flow and characters feel so natural, it's a shame to watch the last few episodes of this sharply written series.

I wonder if the show would have done any better premiering in the fall alongside The Cleveland Show. I can't believe this series got so many bad reviews, though I do recall Mission Hill and The Oblongs being unmercifully bashed by critics when they premiered only years later to become "genius series cut down in their primes".

Saw the episode, who says gross jokes, smart jokes and strange jokes can't mix?

I kinda wish the sub-plot had a little more screentime, it seemed like a cool idea.

One other small problem; Andrew and Helen didn't speak until the second act. The writers couldn't really try to make everyone speak until they want to, huh?

All of a sudden, as well, Muhammad can speak English now, guess they got tired of translating him.

Has anyone seen the original live-action show? Is this show very similar to it? This show just seems so cartoony that I find it hard to believe that it can be very similar to a live-action show.
