The Restaurant 2009

How did that happen?

Our favourite restaurateur and cooking judge Crazy Ray Blanc is now a Cocktail Competition judge.

Perhaps the Winkers pulled a few strings with their chums and got their new boss a gig? JJ was the chair person for the judging panel after all.

For years the voice, conscience and standard bearer of haute cuisine in the UK is now qualified to judge coloured drinks - amazing!

Can it be a coincidence that a little while after throwing back glass after glass of these bilious concoctions, Crazy Ray fell down some stairs and broke his leg?

James and Chris are an excellent idea ... I'd love to see JJ and Nathan's faces if RB suggested it :D

I don't agree about Rebecca ... yes she got a bit stressy last night but no more so than anyone would under that pressure and of course it's edited to show her like that. Plus at the end when it came to bringing the cake out she really got it together. She made her speech, she tactfully prepared the guests for the disaster and she calmed hubby down ... I think she'd be fine running her own restaurant.

Apologies all, I'm new to the thread having just watched the prog first time this series, and would just like to know which ones are the winkers? Are they those poncey blonde laRAB? I'm pretty shocked at the ineptitude of some of the competitors. We didn't get to see he magician!

shame its to end in a way because like many of you have said they chose the two J's only because of what they had already , not what they could (or wouldn't) do therefore anyone who could cook was never in the running

yes series three ended, or pretty much all the way through descended into a farce , because of the way it was going but the idea when first brought about made for watchable TV especially tat boy and gimpy (series 2)

why do these producers have to mess about with original formats - to see it all end on a low note
