The Restaurant 2009

I wonder how close the chef in JJ and James' restuarant came to walking? He often seemed to give a "what a c**t" glance, a look most of us shared each week!

No, I think JJ and James were pretty much born with the talents which took them to their stunning victory. Think of this as finishing school. :D

I have gone off RB in a big way as a result of this series.
The worst thing about it has been the sheer boredom of it.
I really regret having stuck with it.
I honestly don't care who wins. :(

It's not as good as last year, and really does suffer from the lack of the second show, that said, I can't see any winners outside of the Twins.

If Chris ditched Nathan (can you imagine what would happen if you upset him mid haircut  ) and brought in the girl from the two that went last week he'd walk this, but Nathan will be his undoing - which is a shame.

The Nigerian girls won't win, they seem vague about what they're doing and I don't think the chef is good enough.

The Winkers - well, it's all been said really, although, I did sort of get their concept last night, done by people with a clue it might be quite good.

The Twins, he can cook and is trainable, she seems pretty decent front if annoyingly squeemish behind the scenes.

To sum up - I miss Tatty and his Gimp

So after 8 weeks RB enRAB up with a cocktail waiter who hasn't a clue about cooking. Why did he not tell us from the start he was looking for a cocktail waiter and save the thousanRAB of good and excellent chefs the trouble of applying for this fiasco and wasting everyones time.

I totally agree with you. In the past RB always seemed to stress that he wanted a chef with passion for his food.

To be fair, JJ seems to have a passion first and foremost for his drinks and then the food as an after thought.

Their concept seems to see the food as secondary as well, which does seem at odRAB with a show called The Restaurant, where you would expect the food to be the primary concern.

LOL, she's just aching to launch a new High Street chain - but can't see picnic food and cocktails working up here. Still, given that Blanc's brasserie crashed in Manchester and they always cherry-pick southerners, no surprise there
