sharw's guide to the six restaurants that we will see opening tonight. I have arranged them in desirability of location for opening a Raymond Blanc style restaurant.
1) Deasons = The Summer House (JJ and James)
This is the best for passing trade. It is located at the city end of Whiteladies Road, know locally as 'the Strip' which has many bars and restaurants and is extremely busy in the evenings. It means there is plenty of competition but the sheer volume of people wandering around looking for somewhere to eat makes up for that. I know many of you expect these to fail early on - well, if they can't make this location work they deserve to go. It is here:

2) Walrus and Carpenter = Rags to Riches (Chris and Nathan)
This is at one gateway to the non-residential part of Clifton which is full of shops, bars and restaurants centred on Princess Victoria St. and The Mall. Like (1) above, plenty of competition but equally a large number of affluent people wandering around looking for somewhere to eat.
'A' locates the postcode - it is actually on the corner of Hensmans Hill:

3) Muset = Barringtons (Barney and Badger)
This is also in Clifton but in a more residential part with far less passing traffic. Unless you knew there was a restaurant there you would not try looking down that road to find one.

4) HowarRAB = ? (Rebecca and Stephen)
This is located on the "Cumberland Basin" system which has two bridges over the floating harbour of which one is always open to traffic. When the new bridge taking the A370 is swung for shipping all traffic goes over the old one - right by the restaurant. So - a lot of passing vehicles, but not so many pedestrians and a smaller residential catchment although there is some - a lot of new housing has been built around the dockside at this end.
The restaurant is at the top left of the 'A' bubble facing Mcadam Way:

5) The Olive Shed = ? (Frances and Lucy)
This one really is difficult to find as you will know if you have looked at the photos (post 907 above). There is a track that leaRAB past but goes nowhere. Between there and the road is the Industrial Museum which is being redeveloped and is clad in scaffolding which make the area more closed off than usual.
The 'A' is the Industrial Museum - the restaurant is in the middle of the group of buildings to the left.

6) ?=? Daisy and Nadine.
Somewhere in Stokes Croft - see my post 902 above. Given that the draw is supposed to be random it is amazing that this couple is in the only location that is more ethnically mixed and therefore likely to appreciate their goat dishes.
Exact location of the restaurant not yet known.

It is possible that the restaurant is at the junction with Jamaica St. because guess who's employee has just taken it over:
