The Restaurant 2009

Arghgh Steves lack of confidence strikes again. Why does he do this
to himself? It brought Rebecca right down, she looked fired up at first.

OMFG, I can not effing believe he picked JJ and James. They have been absolutely blagging, bull shitting idiots all series. James (or is it JJ) has cooked barely any meals through out the show and he screwed up half the courses in the final challenge .. and they win. I've lost total respect for Raymond. I get that people need to be business orientated, but they as partners in the new business can provide that. What JJ and James will bring could be provided by hiring a good manager. The chef should be the core of what the restaurant is about, not an after thought.

Raymond says it can take 10 years to be come a great chef. So basically the restaurant is going to operate with a rather poor chef at the helm or they'll just hire someone else to cook. Although it was a bonkers series, with a very questionable final 3, I at least thought Raymond would choose sensibly in the end. I really don't know what to say, I still can't believe he picked them. It it April 1st?

OMG I cannot believe the winkers are still in... They know NOTHING about food, cannot and have NEVER cooked and they're in the final?????? THIS IS A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RB disappoints me. I won't be tuning next year, unless there's a major change in candidates and format. This is AWFUL.

These two are such bluffers, it's unreal... "back on the pass to work on the finished product", what a LOAD of CR@P!!!!!
The worst thing is that they're gonna win too probably. This is RUBBISH.

I've decided we have three weeks to go. Last year 'The Restaurant' had the 8 to 9 slot on Wednesdays and Thursdays. It started on Sept. 10th and overlapped the last two weeks of 'Professional Masterchef' which ended at 7p.m.

This year 'Professional Masterchef' has moved to mid-evening slots of 8.30 - 9 Monday, 8 - 9 Tuesday, 8 - 9.30 Wednesday and 8.15 - 9 Thursday. That means that 'The Restaurant' will have to wait until that finishes on October 8th (assuming similar slots to last year) and so my prediction is that it will start the following week.

No, I'm not a 'troll'.

Apologies for any offence caused - as per my previous e-mail, that wasn't my intention.

I see now, that this is a 'clique' thing that 'outsiders' aren't allowed to comment on (despite the overlong, unfunny posts in question).

I wish Stephen and Rebecca had been in the final. When you saw the blood, sweat and tears that they went to I feel sorry that they got pipped to the post by those two blaggers......

They were all clearly set up to fail last night (for our amusement of course!). Working a "chain" kitchen to such exact specifications is so difficult as its all about product knowledge and timings. Things which come with training and experience. And there just weren't enough of them to cope; there would be far more people in the kitchen, not just a couple dioing all the dishes on the menu.

But the right couple went; should have gone last week, IMHO - perhaps they kept them in just so we'd get a chance to see Sean properly!

JJ was pretty poor, but I almost felt sory for him, that kitchen seemed impossible to keep on top of. Chris & Nathan seemed to manage it though. Remain convinced he has never cooked before in his life however and look forward to seeing the picnic restaurant next week.

When I propose a starter of sushi, followed by a mis-shapen pizza topped with burnt garlic for our pre-show menu...

Entertaining stuff again. SHame they've cut the programme, especially when utter dross like Strictly Come Yawning appears to take over the entire BBC between September and December.

One thing though, I really hated those two poncey blond idiots, but he simply didn't wink. He blinked, but one of his eyes was hidden by his daft hair :D
