spit it out!

After seeing how useless Nathan can be when a little pressure is applied, my view on who will win this thing has changed:

As of today I think Barney and Badger are the favourites, with Chris and Nathan, Daisy and Nadine and Stephen and Rebecca some way back but all have at least one serious flaw (FoH, ability and concept respectively) and JJ and James not on the radar. Now watch the winkers prove me wrong.

Didn't watch the final as I couldn't bear to watch a programme I've loved in the previous 2 series, turned into a farce. Looks like I didn't miss much!

This series has been more about the "concept", rather than the cooking. RB bought the concept and forgot about the winkers failings. Whether the Summer House can be turned into a commercial proposition is another matter...

I loved series one and two and was really anticipating series three. But its been a joke. Hate the new format. Hate the one episode a week. Hate the contestants. So either return to the old format for 2010 or let this be the end. R.I.P.

This series was so disappointing. I really hope they bring it back next year, back to the 2 episodes a week format and have proper contestants who can actually at least cook! I really want it to have a chance to redeem itself next year, but I just fear it's probably the end of the show after the farce this year :(. Last year I actually wanted to visit the winners restaurant, but this year I wouldn't want to go within a mile of JJ's food!! I did think James was ok as front of house though. Ideally they should have had split the final 2 up and had Chris and James as the winners.

Agreed - and none more so than in the case of Nathan. I'm not trying to defend all his actions - for me the low point was the Tea Dance when he could have swept up orders from those waiting too long but instead went out for a fag.

However, this guy has held down a job in a high class hairdressers where the least rudeness to customers would be punished severely. Here he is faced with people tempted in by a cheap meal and the chance to act up for the cameras and no doubt encouraged by production to complain at the least fault.

The most telling part on that was the evening of 'The Cake' (episode 5) when he was shown being charming to customers - I suspect because there was no rudeness at all for them to show, which they would have preferred. The other episodes, I suspect, were edited to show every single moment of conflict between him and a stroppy customer.

Your posts are fantastic..keep up the good work. :D
If I had one little gripe, it would be your rather liberal use of the term "milf" in part 2. I guess it's subjective, but I don't think she exhibited any of the necessary qualities of a genuine milf. In other worRAB, you might, but I certainly wouldn't... she was seriously lacking any "milfness".

This makes twice in one week I have actually turned off in disgust, having previously thought that was just a phrase rather than an action.

The first being the finale of School of Saatchi, in which, for those who did not watch, the winner was the one they all thought was a chancer and blagger with limited talent who at the end presented two pieces of art, one she personally constructed which they all hated, and the other simply being a section of metal fencing with an impaled section of tree trunk which she spotted on a council estate and had removed wholesale to the gallery, which they all loved and which won her the contest.

I see the beginnings of a theme....

Sorry, that's it for me, I can't watch anymore.

RB got rid of Stephen and Rebecca for spurious reasons. Ok, he couldn't "perform" in front of 100+ people at a public cookery show. Is that really relevant to being a chef at this venture with RB, Sarah and David? I don't know...

The final is nailed on for the winkers, as RB "gets" the concept. And he believes he can mould JJ... god help him!

Sorry, the winkers have blagged their way through the series and unfortunately RB has bought their concept... I fear they are going the way of Jeremy & Jane from the first series. That is, taken on board initially for the concept, then neatly sidelined...
