Judging from the hot weather the series must have been filmed in July before the summer got worse. So no blackberries in the garden. This whole series looked heavily manipulated from the start. The only thing that is surprising is the extent to which Blanc and his cronies were evidently involved in the manipulation.
I haven't seen any reported advertising for contestants this year - last year they wanted applicants by 31st March (see here) - but that doesn't necessarily mean no new programme.
I too cant belive this pair of chancers / blaggers won
and i think they only did so because they already had a "Buisness" albe it a cocktail bar what serves the odd bit of food
as for the show its self -- seems to have run its course it has for me anyway sorry but if these two were the best out of what 10.000 odd applicants -- then my god what were the ones like that never got to screen ?????

Quite possibly. His inexperience was obvious. Point is, it's not difficult to hire an accomplished chef. I never got the impression that JJ would need to be a Patron-chef in the new establishment? Or did I miss something?
Their training starts in January. I know they already have a trendy location (London) in mind which will no doubt be extremely popular.
It is interesting to see other comments about JJ and James. I agree that although they were not necessarily the rightful winners in terms of the programme format, Chris and Nathan were most definately not a stable choice of winner's either and I can fully understand why, given the choice of finalists, RB made the decision he did.
The judges were only given progress reports/updates from the BBC production team as they saw fit to note - and RB & judges were reliant on those reports for making their decisions
With that in mind, I believe half of the things that went on were not filtered through to the right people and it is clear from the editing that this did play a large part in the outcome, which as I have mentioned before is a huge shame.
