New Years Day Episodes of EastEnders seem to rate well these days though.
I say do something like

Monday Normal
Tuesday Normal
Thursday Normal
Xmas Eve Normal
Xmas Day 6:30pm & 9:30pm
Boxing Day 8:00pm-8:40pm
Monday Normal
Tuesday NO Episode
Thursday 30th NO Episode
Friday 31st 8:00pm-8:40pm
New Years Day 7:00pm & 8:30pm

Emmerdale and Corrie can easily fit around that i think

EastEnders is never out it's slot unless it has to be which us usually down to sport,charity events ect.
Christmas is the only time EastEnders gets different slots
 
It won't be void in this case. Sporting events are often delayed or overrun and are therefore not affected by normal RABRPG rules. Many thanks for the link.
 
Lowest rated episode of Neighbours ever. Quite astonishing really. What happened? :eek:

Sorry, but I disagree. Those are poor numbers for a big new U.S. show and the retention isn't brilliant either. FlashForward last year had a much higher debut and managed to increase its audience, see figures below:

Episode 1 - 4.10m
Episode 2 - 4.25m

Could you outsmug Simon Cowell? I think you possibly could. The way you're talking you'd think this record high for last night proves that people LOVED this awfully contrived episode of The Drop and will be back next week. I strongly suspect a lot of them won't.


Is Twitter more representative than RAB? Don't know, it's an interesting one.

Hardcore TV follower a not, I think a lot will have been thinking to themselves, why mess with a winning format? Also why did they ask the night before for people to apply to be on last night's show when they'd already done the casting?


That was a decent share for it yesterday, I'll give you that. So it definitely won't make the press as it doesn't fit their narrative. :p
 
as i said over there I would take this with a big bucket of salt. this report is basically a rehash of a story from about 3 weeks ago. so a journo finally spots the article and rewrites it as new news basically.
 
You make some very valid points Fudd, some that the bigwigs at ITV should consider. Corrie is no longer the biggest show around for ITV now and its figures have been less impressive.

Moving a Friday episode to Tuesday would make sense, Friday would still be OK with Corrie on at 8:30 and Tuesday now has a vital boost. Corrie itself is no longer a show that should be protected at all costs and should be used to help ITV in areas of great need.

Another important thing for Corrie is the need for fixed repeat times on ITV2.
 
not sure, I just know, I did a timer record for Merlin (started at 19:55), as I thought it might clash with TV Burp (finished at 20:00), but when I flicked from ITV 1 to BBC 1, Strictly was still done.
 
Masterchef: The Professionals is doing brilliantly for BBC2, does anyone know what sort of ratings the ordinary Masterchef was getting when it was moved to BBC1?
 
It is true that TE has done well out of the Beeb but I hope this is not purely on the amount of salaries paid and the negative press that appears as a knee jerk reaction. TE has been reported as being on a million pound plus contract but there again WTD has been very popular for a long time. The BBC maybe neeRAB to be careful about money but if somethings good it should be pursued and not restricted by the din made by MP's and the press.

I think they should go for the 10.30pm slot on ITV3 personally - just after EastEnders on BBC3 and see if it can pull some people in. I don't think Coronation Street and ITV2 go together to be honest - Corrie is actually highbrow considering most of stuff broadcast!
 
Paula Abdul's new CBS reality series, Live To Dance (UK title - Got To Dance) looks likely to go head-to-head with American Idol. LTD launches on Tuesday 4th January with a 2 hour episode before moving to Wednesdays 8-9pm. If it sticks to the usual pattern, Idol will launch on the 11th and have episodes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8pm.

The most exciting casting project of pilot season seems certain to be the remake of Charlie's Angels. ABC's new Brit boss, Paul Lee, has ordered a pilot of the show which has been hanging around at ABC for a while.

Fresh off the news that MTV have ditched The City, Audrina Patridge is to get her own show on VH1. Previously in development at MTV, the show is being Executive Produced by reality TV super-producer, Mark Burnett. MTV seem to have moved on with Jersey Shore and Teen Mom - I just assumed this project would be ditched entirely. Though I can't see it working on VH1 either.

Medium's time looks to be coming to an end. Saved by CBS in 2009, the network has cut the order to 13 episodes. The shows creator is to focus on development at CBS in-house studio - never a good sign! The show has been rating badly on Fridays at 8pm.

FOX have changed Ride-Along to The Chicago Code. According to creator Shawn Ryan, "changing the title from Ride-Along to The Chicago Code reflects our belief that this is more than just a cop show. It

In its normal Wed/Thurs slot it usually got 4.5-4.9m in overnights. Fridays 7.30 show got around 4m. The Friday half hour shows are axed for the next run.
 
Halloween weekend and young people are out while the elderly are barricaded indooors. Jeez I wonder why the gap between SCD and X Factor is not at least 2m in SCRAB favour? Very poor showing from the celebrity reality show. ;)
 
The original source stated it was a record low, which I suspect means it had between 560,000 and 620,000 seeing as the previous low was 630,000. For ITV's sake, it better be the higher end of that range, because if its at the bottom end, alarm bells may be ringing.

With I'm a Celebrity on throughout the majority of November, I've no idea where that will end up going. My only guess is 7:30 to 8:30 on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

Digiguide update, was hoping to find out if the new series of How I Met Your Mother is going to start that week, but, that time slot is TBA.
