Daybreak is really starting to reach dnager levels - it should be at least sustaining around the 0.8m mark considering what GMTV achieved.

Low also for Whitechapel which is slightly surprising considering how well it held up for the first two episodes - surely Hollyoaks Later couldn't have stripped away that much of an audience??? Spooks did well, though, as did the soaps.
 
I thought that the channel wasn't that big on freeview, outside the Soccer Saturday shows??

Makes you wonder if that is the case, would ESPNEWS be worthwhile on freeview as well?
 
Was there a Hollyoaks First Look last Friday? I don't think there was, so technically yesterday's episode on C4 should've seen a boost but it remained at just the 1.1m.
 
I know what Georged123 (and Robbie) mean by the X Factor figures. They're fantastic but they've plateaued. There's no sign of the fantastic growth that occured in the audition/boot camp/judges house stage. Strictly Come Dancing, in comparison, is continuing to grow (though where did the presenters get 11m for the Saturday show from last night? :confused:) and, for all the moaning about the programme from the SCD forum, it is doing excellently.

Casualty did reasonably I suppose. Merlin and TV Burp held up as well as always against strong opposition.

Looks new and it seems like part of the One Night Only specials strand that has so far featured Rod Stewart and Phil Collins. God knows why they've buried it there though, it would have been good for 4-5m in a peaktime slot although I guess SuBo's Life Stories will get 5m+ so it'll at least have a good lead in so may get 3-4m which would be good for that slot.
 
For whoever it was who asked - Hollyoaks Later got 580,000 last night.


I wonder if it'll air at all that week, or whether they may give the Christmas slot to CITV (or other filler shows) and make a few tweaks over Christmas.

They're probably testing the water but I think a show like this seems to rely on momentum, so breaking for a week from Friday won't do it any favours.

I'd have definately commissioned it to return in January instead of the Famous and Fearless show they have planned - and perhaps test the water at 9pm too.

thanks to TEN taking two weeks off for the Commonwealth Games, Five is now only 5 weeks behind TEN with Neighbours, make one more week up over Christmas, and thats 1 month, not really an issue at all.
 
Thanks for the info, I'm assuming Aurelio Zen and South Riding will debut in 2011 rather than 2010. South Riding I would have thought would air in November given its only a three parter.

Halloween didn't seem to hit XF though I doubt it will fare so well tonight - last years results jumped to 13.9m on the same weekend last year and I think any significant week-to-week growth will be difficult tonight. The one thing working in favour of the show this year is that they should have a top 5 that is far more talented and far more interesting than last year when it lost a bit of momentum towarRAB the end.

Strictly seems to be on form, over 10m at this stage is very impressive for the show. Ann Widdecombe sounRAB like this years John Sargeant.

Very good for Piers Morgan as well - I think that's his third highest ever and highest for a non-X Factor appearance. Rod Stewart is a decent name to have, it started a bit earlier and some people who had never watched probably gave it a chance last weekend.

Those shares were recorded back in Daybreaks 3rd week on air when it was averaging 800k and Breakfast was having a slightly poorer week share wise than normal averaging 1.3m -1.4m.

So considering Daybreak has fallen further since then, there probably is not much difference in that Demo now.

Solid, if unspectular for Emmerdale which surely deserved more than 7.6m. Why ITV didn't advertise it i'll never know.

As for the whole Corrie schedule change. Some of the suggestions I've read are just ridiculous! The Wednesday to Thursday move didn't go very smoothly, but it's gained some ground recently...but overall this is unacceptable considering how long it's been in that slot now (since July 23rd 2009). Moving Corrie around again would only harm the show more.

Personally I'd just leave it all as it is, even though it's not exactly ideal at the moment. Who knows, in a few years time the Wednesday slot may come available again and if it does ITV should just move it back if this happens. As for Corrie acting as a weapon to boost other days, it's hardly advisable as a Corrie lead-in these days doesn't always work anyway. Anyone remember The Bill?!
