The Ratings Thread (Part 13)

I see a few mentions on here that Daybreak is being affected by half term

Why is that affected but BBC isn't infact it's slightly up ????

Genuine question

Much as I'd love to see this tripe fall to 5.5m I have to report that the lowest overnights for the 2008 series was 7.43m on the last Tuesday of the run.

Edit: the 2007 series fell to 4.45m on Children In Need night. There was no clash with CIN in 2008.

^Much of that looks about right. I agree that the I'm A Celebrity launch will be extended to 90 mins but I also think X Factor Results will be shortened again. I wouldn't be surprised if that Take That documentary airs on Sunday 14th at 18:30 for 90 mins as that looks the only free slot as The Cube's regular series enRAB next week.

Nov 23 2008 - Survivors 6.97m IAC 8.13m

Nov 25 2008 - Survivors 5.99m No IAC, Champions League

Dec 2 2008 - Survivors 5.22m IAC 7.91m (series low).

Ooops!

Biggest ratings disappointment of 2010?

We're all aware of this anomaly in BARB's reporting on here I think.

Mike - given how barmy it is to only report the "networked" element for shows in BARB's top 30s, can you not ask them why they (or BARB) do this? It doesn't make any sense to only count the original network showing when reporting the figures for a show. What you are basically saying is that no-one in Wales watched Countryfile at all that week. Which is patently rubbish.

Why can't BARB report accurate official ratings for shows with alternative regional transmissions? LoaRAB of BBC shows end up with lower reported official ratings than they actually got because of this.

Change the name back to GMTV, run a few trailers to that effect, and the viewers will come back. Even with Adrian and Christine at the helm.

Simple.

Provisional schedules for week beginning 13th November for BBC already up. Sunday and Monday at 9pm is blank, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday have Turn Back in Time, Apprentice and the comedys as expected, and don't forget Friday 19th is Children in Need all night. ITV's will probably all be TBA's, even though we know what will be there.

No sign of a rescheduled EastEnders in the provisionals, so it looks like only 3 episodes maybe that week.

When was the last time though Eastenders got moved from one of it's normal slots apart from sport, charity events or breaking news? It's always on normal days at normal times even during holiday perioRAB. (Must be one of the most consistently scheduled evening shows there is). So I can't see there not being a New Years Eve episode.

Human Planet is running late, filming is still underway and will probably not be ready til well into 2011. Frozen Planet filming is now done, and half the series has been film edited. Half still to do and then music and narration to record. On track for the Spring but transmission will probably be next Autumn, which has always been the plan.

Quite decent for Hollyoaks, considering its current state, but it obviously has its loyal following. In theory tonights C4 episode should get ~1.5m due to no E4 showing.

Has anyone got the figures for how the other Hollyoaks Later stranRAB have performed??

I'm sure there'll be a New Year's Eve episode of EastEnders - I don't see why they wouldn't have one.

It'll be interesting to see if there'll be any soaps on New Year's Day which falls on a Saturday. Although dan2008 says it's a must, the last time NYD fell on a Saturday (2005), there were no soaps.

I really like that Fudd, and perhaps to solve a couple of issues the Thursday Corrie could start at 8pm, leading into new stuff at 8:30pm rather than 9pm (30, 60 or 90 minute stuff). The extra Emmerdale could air on Mondays at 7:30pm (to form an hour long episode) so that night wouldn't be weakened too much and a soap clash is avoided.

Everyone on here was outraged about Million Pound Drop, but looking at Twitter last night there was almost universal praise/excitement. I guess for people not hardcore TV followers it wasn't a big deal. I havn't seen it yet myself.
