Funny how Real Crime did as well at 10:35pm as when it aired in the 9pm slot earlier this year!

I think one of the reasons ITV don't spend money on post-NaT is because they use up all their allocated adverts before then, so there's no adverts in the post-NaT programme until 11pm. I guess their reasoning is: why spend a lot of money on a show when there won't be any adverts until half-way through it. But I agree with you that they could put more of an effort for that slot. Some of the stuff they show there are rating appaullingly, such as Swingtown which only had 0.7m the other week.
 
Great for MPD increasing YET again. I think that so far, this is the only thing that can work for a BB replacement as it is getting only 200k less than BB11s overnight average.
Last night, C4 was privileged having the 2 shows that are doing best at the moment one after another. They will be gutted when Grand Designs enRAB, even though it has dropped under 3m.

A drop for The Apprentice, but still doing well and Emmers seems to be in a strong position recently.

Hollyoaks later? Last nights episode was fantastic.
 
Comparisons with 1980s ratings are meaningless, though, as there was no multichannel then.

Might as well reminisce about the days before most people had TV sets, and when radio comedies like Round The Horne could get more than 20 million listeners.
 
What gives rabroad the impression that Merlin will now start in early-2012? The reduction in episodes I imagine is so that the can fit it in Winter 2011 without moving it. So it'll be:

Doctor Who - 3rd September to 8th October
Merlin - 15th October to 17th December

Or:

Merlin - 3rd September to 5th November
Doctor Who - 12th November to 17th December

I'm not sure they'll have it finishing on Christmas Eve, really. The first scenario is more likely though, as Doctor Who has a Christmas Special. (also avoiRAB starting Who in late August, as feared initially)
 
I think the main factors for all 3 increasing are:

-Big year for EE in its 25th year, started off with one of the most talked about storylines ever in soap and one of the biggest kept secrets. This has had a huge effect on the ratings for the rest of the year, because it seemed to bring back viewers who hasn't watched EE in a while.
-The weather also boosted figures in Jan/Feb. This particuarly had a big effect on Emmerdale because the Mark Wylde murder episode brought in 9.96m officially and Emmerdale's old viewers from the pre Anita Turner period returned after seeing how much the show had improved.
-Corrie sandwiched between the two improved I reckon due to the increase in the other 2 soaps as there does seem to be a pattern when one soap increases/decreases, so does the other.
 
Anyone have any predictions for The Million Pound Drop? (had 2.1m/2.2m last series) I thought it'd be lower this time because of Channel 4's recent poor ratings, but the reaction on Twitter seems bigger than last series (its trending worldwide), so hopefully it'll be over 2m again. :)

Edit: And their online game has crashed as well.
 
Well done Channel 4... killing off something which actually could have a long lifespan on it, had you not been stupid and messed with the format.
 
Excellent ratings for Strictly and X-Factor. X-Factor did well to fight off the Halloween slump. Strictly even managed to beat last year's final performance show and was level with last year's final results show which logged 10.05m (41.5%) and 10.42m (42.3%) respectively. Amazing considering we're not even out of October yet.
 
Is outcasts definately moved?
I think Outcasts will have to move to 2011, there just seems to be no room for it.



Does it depend on the Carling Cup?
 
Roll your eyes all you like, but the truth is it does happen every year with the BBC with some series beginning too late to wrap up for Christmas and then either being moved about the schedules over Christmas or a couple of episodes remaining to air come January.
 
Anyone know how Surf's Up did as it wouldn't surprise me if it rated higher than Bad Santa which should have aired at Christmas despite being the funniest if not the Unchristmassy film you can watch.

The Wrong Com season is doing okay but it's evident that comedies don't rate that well whereas The Adam Sandler and Will Smith season rated better.
