The Ratings Thread (Part 13)

How about a big Saturday night BBC1 return for Noel EdmonRAB?

Deal or No Deal seems to have run its course now, I think he would be more than capable of anchoring SCD although I suspect it probably wouldn't be his sort of format.

On New years day EastEnders aired twice once at 7:55pm and the other was earlier at 6:10pm.
They also added an EXTRA episode for boxing day which was a Saturday last year:)

No surprise to see Merlin recommissioned for series 4 filming from March 2011.

Given its success against X Factor.

Hopefully with the launch of BBC 1 HD on 3 November (now testing on Sky BTW) and the switch to HD for most programming in 2011 Merlin will also go HD.

Just a quick question - didn't we used to get Reach figures every so often for Breakfast and GMTV??

So is there any Daybreak reach figures? (and BBC Breakfast so we can compare)

Would be intresting to see them - as Breakfast TV rating's can be obvioulsy a bit misleading.

imo (as an on & off fan) the current Corrie scheduling is stupid

2 episode Monday, then nothing till Thursday?

bring back the Wednesday, drop Emmers when football is on (so moving Corrie half an hour earlier)

any displaced Emmers eps should then be shown on Sunday, X-Factor & DoI be damned :p

Disappointed to see a good show like Waking The Dead come to an end but its not a surprise.

One thing I am pleased about is the fact Mr Eve wont be getting another huge paycheck from the BBC. I was shocked when he decided to slag off Doctor Who and the BBC, the corporation that have kept him in regular work for the last decade. Perhaps in a year or so when he has missed out on a role for an ITV show we may hear him slagging off ITV for their reliance of BGT and X Factor.

Bad news if you're in Scotland and were hoping for a sports-fest a week on Sunday. STV are opting out of the FA Cup unsurprisingly, while BBC1 Scotland is opting out of the live Championship football game and the Brazilian Grand Prix, the latter is being shunted to BBC2 Scotland.

NBC's Chuck is pre-empted on November 8 for former President George Bush interview.

The Hills franchise may be over (for now) as Whitney Port said that the spinoff, The City is canceled. Even though the ratings improved slightly compared to the first season, now that Jersey Shore and Teen Mom became a larger ratings hit, The City's ratings seems tiny compared to the two.

Yeah it looks strong for BBC1. I think in January, they'll have Hustle on Mondays, Outcasts on Tuesdays, other stuff (i.e. Carling Cup semis) on Wednesdays, Silent Witness on Thursdays and Fridays. That'll be a really good schedule for them.

Like Jonwo, I expect Zen and South Riding to turn up on Sundays in January, with Lark Rise to Candleford returning in February, slightly later than usual due to having just 6 episodes instead of 12.

Lark Rise is a 8pm show whereas Zen and South Riding will air at 9pm so it's possible it could air in January.

I wonder if Masterchef will air in January or debut it later in February or March with the new format.

Not a chance I'm posting a thread on it, because it'd probably descend into the usual 'X soap is better than Y soap' - although I have posted it in the Soap Ratings Thread.

Interesting point about the weather, but I don't think it's all to do with the weather myself. Probably a bit of it, but not all of it.

Well said, im waiting for channel 5 to start advertising the show especially when
Roo Stewart, Will Smith and his daughter to return

Bare in mind that Neighbours is picking up a lot of viewers on 5Demand like an extra 10,000 viewers, Channel Fiver and +1, saturday afternoon omnibus etc.

I think the problem (as it were) is here to stay, because the process for monitoring tv viewership is automated

Logically speakiing I don't think it's unreasonable to expect tv schedules published by channels are accurate. So when Kantar are allocating the overnights, they go by what they've been told.

Until the proper programme logs are published (for initial consolidated data or 6 week amendments) you only go by what's infront of you.

I guess it would more accurate to just have overnights for the various timeslots, as opposed to individual programmes. Of course that wouldn't be very helpful for ITV, C4 et al when trying to sell programme-based advertising

sorry mate :)

BBC1 HD I've noticed Doctors will be on it as it's airs at 1:45pm over on BBC1 but at 4:00pm they have thw BBC HD showing but thats not the same for all shows (Holby,Waterloo road ect)
