I remember when he didn't get the award for Pulp Fiction and unlike most people, instead of smiling nicely and applauding the winner, he said 'damn' and shook his fist.

I adore Judi too (I have every 'as time goes by' on DVD':o) but I think Charlize may get it as she has won before, like Hilary Swank, and the academy's have their fav's.

I like Reese too...going from ditsy comedies to this sort of role...she always comes over so well.

Yay...the penguins won. (I am a French fan too.:o)
 
Oh I remember 2 channel tv, scary stuff, don't know how we managed, especially with World of Sport on a saturday afternoon. :eek:

I could only afford a Beano and Smash hits mag, Empire was too expensive. :)
 
ARGH!!!! What a terrible colour scheme RAB have for their Oscar page. I thought Carsh had one best picture but realised it was only a different colour because there's no link to a review of it.

And I can't believe Jake didn't win.
 
I have tons of film books and could always tell you what film starred who, when it was made, directed by, etc...but I thought I had lost it as I have not been really with it lately.

But that montage cheered me up as I knew 95% of the films! Yay me! I haven't completely forgotten!

Toast is going nicely..do you all want jam, marmalade, marmite or what? :)
 
Does anyone know how many Brokeback Mountain has lost so far and how many it can win altogether now?

It's not winning any of the actor categories which I thought it would... wonder why?

Glad Phillip Seymour Hoffman won best actor!
 
Probably those who are following this thread are watching the Oscar but i just tell it anyway. I've just found out that Oscar is live on ProSieben (FTA, Astra1 19E) and is in English.

It's dire, and Mariella Frostrup isn't even listening to what the guests are saying - mind you, I don't think I'd bother either, because they're rubbish.

A lot of people will be staying up tonight to watch this. I for one would rather they didn't bother having studio coverage at all if it is going to be so *rubbish*. Are you listening, Sky?
 
Quite evenly spread this year!

Another 'Memoirs' win..I must go see that, it is so my type of movie.

Can you believe we are still all up watching and typing...anyone at work tomorrow!:D
