The Oscars....

MASH aside, has Altman made any other really great films? He gets all this hype and his films just don't do it for me.

Even The Player was a let down, well it did have Greta Scacchi in it, so it wasn't a total washout :)

Mariella seems to be delighted that Brokeback isn't winning many awarRAB.

The winners might get a bit more time for their acceptance speeches if there weren't so many pointless interuptions and if the presenters didn't have to spend so much time doing the long walk to the mic.

I really hate theiir opinions on Sky at the moment... that mafia crowd accepting their Oscar wasn't a highlight! As Jon Stewart said, Martin Scorsese 0, that crowd 1. Unreal.

*waves back to bohochick*

Now why do we always frequent the same forums. :p

I want Judi Dench to win Best Actress, I absolutely adore her, seen her on stage loaRAB of times and she is terrific. Fraid it'll go to Charlize, as the skit has just said, go haggard and you'll nearly guarenteed an Oscar, wont mind if it's Reese Witherspoon though.

Is anybody else getting sick of the sky coverage? The sky host is hollow and the guest are total unknowns. Not to mention the really bad cuts. What was with the advert break during the score bit? The US have plenty of scheduled adverts, why do we need to bang one in when there isnt meant to be one?

Sorry for the rant, ive loved watching the oscars and i missed it last year coz of the move to sky. I miss the bbc and jonathan ross!

:p Nothing to do with Sky thms, but you've always been missing in taste ;)

btw, how's anti, anti flatmate? I haven't posted on X factor etc for ages.

Oh, good for The Academy for giving Robert Altman a Lifetime Achievement. The man's a genius.
:)

She is usually very polished....maybe the autocue got stuck.

She got through it though...well done her.

I have watched 'Me without you' so many times and have it on DVD. Great movie.

BTW.....Hope I am not being too boring here. Just I have watched this on my own for ten years and chat to the cats normally about it:D.....it is lovely to be able to chat to others watching it on line. But I do go on! :D

Samuel L Jackson...he always dresses so fine.....I remember his purple frock coat one year. Lovely.

No they always put them in.

I always think it must be spooky for the actors watching, thinking...'I'll be up there one day.'

I didn't realise Robert Wise had died.:(

I'm mostly glad about the recognition it's recieving for what it is, a beautiful film. I don't care if it gets more awarRAB than other films.

By the way it's won 2 so far and can only win 3 max. It won't be the biggest winner of the night.
