see with it? Any DSO's? I just bought my boyfriend one and he loves astronomy. He already has the Orion Spaceprobe, I think it is a 6 inch. He wanted something bigger & something without all those knobs to turn to move left to right & up and down... So I done a lil research online and see the 10in SkyQuest.. I read the customer reviews, which was over 30 and all 30 people said they Loved there new skyquest and so on & on... Well so I bought it, it should be here in 2 days.. Im scared he will not like it.. I mean all I want to know is it a good scope... How good is it?? Was it worth $600 with shipping & everything?? If it is not a good scope or if there are better out there please tell me so I can cancel and order a new one... I only have $800 to spend.... So what is the best scope to get for that price??? One more thing what all can be seen in the SkyQuest XT10???

I own an Orion XT10. It is a fantastic scope. My first views of the Andromeda Galaxy as well as the Leo Trio were with my XT10. It is an excellent investment as far as telescopes go. I have had mine for 4 years and still love it.

Like Lazy says, it depends on where you set it up for viewing. Dark Skies are needed to see the faint DSOs out there. The 10" of aperture help, but clear and dark skies are necessary to see the faint fuzzies out there.

The intelliscope version has a computerized object locater to assist in finding objects. It does not track, but will indicate what directions you need to move to place an object in the viewing area.
