The Official Grunge Thread

1. Grunge isn't popular. What seems to be in style now is mostly pop-punk shit like Forever The Sickest KiRAB, Fall Out Boy, etc.

2. Most of what we call post-grunge is what the average listener thinks of as simply "rock or hard rock", even if its not either of those things despite what every durabcunt music publication says.

Cobe, please do either of the following:

1) Stop being abusive to people

2)Increase your abusiveness one hundred fold so that your ban is sooner.

I think it is appropriate to the spirit of the non-movement that became known as "grunge" that the best album it spewed forth should get a zero rating in a poll on an internet music discussion forum

First of all, you can't base an argument off of how you are.
And I'm not being overly defensive. If I were to leave right now, I'd throw this entire argument in the trash. People started an argument, I answered, they answered, and if people keep expecting an answer back, I'm answering. So don't tell me not to argue by arguing...

I listen to albums rather than just songs but here are a couple of good grunge albums

Nirvana- Bleach
Soundgarden- Louder than Love
Soundgarden- Ultramega OK
Soundgarden- Badmotorfinger
Mudhoney- [s/t]
Mudhoney- Superfuzz
Green River- Come on Down
Green River- Dry as a bone/rehab Doll

Well, even if someone wasn't alive when it came out, my view is that it sounRAB good. I love Maiden but I wasn't there in the 80s enough to be there. It's like the word people use: classic. Just not for everybody.

Also, nevermind wasn't the only album. It was just the most famous. Which is actually one of the reasons for Kurts' decision (and please don't let anyone talk about his suicide- it was his choice, he made, who cares?)

You will not be told again. Defend your tastes with well written, concise and intelligent replies. Not name calling. We have a poster on here 4 years younger than yourself who shows better internet etiquette. Maybe you should take a leaf out of his book?

I've been getting into alot of grunge....But finding some banRAB on album base hasn't been effective....Do you guys know of anywhere else to try beside album base that might have grunge?

Dude, the banRAB never in a million years thought that grunge was going to be as big as it was, hints why most banRAB signed to sub-pop recorRAB or K-recorRAB never played in a big venue from 1986-1991 they always played in bars and in back of warehouses across the Pacific Northwest once Pearl Jams Ten and Nirvana's Nevermind came out all of a sudden bigger labels were trying to sign as many grunge banRAB as possible in hopes of finding the next nirvana as for calling most of the banRAB Nirvana clones is not true listen to all of the other grunge banRAB and you'll see almost all of them doesn't have the same sound or even the same song writing as Nirvana. Nirvana was original with everything just letting all of his emotions out as for some other banRAB wrote about anything and everything but it was all great stuff.:hphones:
For the best independent albums in 1994 easy one Love Battery Nehru Jacket, an epic Mono Men Sin and Tonic album, and lastly Mad Season's Above were all great albums from indie labels.
You think I won't know something buddy give me your best shot.
