The Official Grunge Thread

ROFL.

And there we have the contradiction to your arguement, provide by none other than yourself!

You don't know what ImGettinThatFaSho listens to either so quit with the ridiculous remarks and stop name calling and being abusive.

That's how you're 'amped' to 'dump' on his opinion.
Don't be condescending, you know exactly what I meant.

It's too bad you're pissed off that it's called the "Seattle Sound" but it was labeled that 20 years ago, and you didn't have anything to do with it.
The "Seattle Sound" could be various musical genres at any given time, but it's a proper noun, so it has a proper definition.

This is exactly similar to some place being designated as the birthplace of "emo".
In 20 years there might be a kid who lives there that disagrees, but that doesn't change the fact that even though it was a trend, it was also labeled as a genre of music, no matter how much it deviated from true emo.

If the Melvins are considered grunge, I'd take them over anything listed by a long shot.

And you know "Halloween" is a cover, right? Anyway, Melvins and Mudhoney would be my 1 and 2 for that scene/era.

Me, too, tbh. Even if the people voting skew young, you'd think someone would have heard this (or just voted for it to be contrary). Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge is still my favorite by them and still awesome all these years later.

I'm also puzzled how the Afghan Whigs belong on this list. Was it the Sub Pob connection? If so, why isn't Earth 2 listed? It's possibly the heaviest thing ever released on that label.

LOL. You know how you feel about emo? You go to school with a ton of kiRAB who love it, it's overblown and overrated and nearly impossible to avoid. That's what grunge was like when people my age were your age.
