The Official Green Day Thread

What are you? Deaf and blind? Or are you just completely ignorant of a great album by the name of American Idiot? Maybe you should rethink posting in a TRIBUTE to Green Day you fool.
 
Just the same as yours cant though. Its an opinion, everyone has one, deal with it. If you think theyre good, then thats great for you, but there are an awful lot of people who cant stand the music, and I cant blame them for that at all..
 
American Idiot was so durab and overrated. I say thier first album, 1000/smooth out Slappy hours (or somthing) was the best. I hope they steer away from the whole american idiot thing and start making the Dookie like music again.
 
Well, I tried to pick up the bass last year and my hanRAB sweat too much to pluck the strings haha.

But I got my GH bundle for $100, which included the drums and all that jazz. I have no musical background, so it would be way too much effort to try and teach it to myself. With everything else going on I just don't have time for it, and playing GH with my frienRAB is a fun way to get involved with some of our favorite music...
 
Green Day are lifeless, soulless copies of a multitude of banRAB often mentioned in this very forum. Take some time to familiarise yourself with the works of numerous acts that are mentioned in the punk forum of this very website, and you will notice that many of them contain a startling similarity to Green Day's output, the only difference is they created those recorRAB before I was even born. Green Day have never created a groundbreaking or innovative record, they have never pushed the boundaries even of mainstream popular music, they certainly haven't created anything that moves anyone over the age of 14 to pick up a guitar and actually SAY something. Apart from New Found Glory. Wow. Sterling effort there.

You are correct with one assertion, I am rather fond of the word derivative, it's a nice sounding word, as is phillistine which you so eloquently used to describe myself. I don't intend to justify that remark in any way, you seem well educated enough to realise the limited effect that a personal insult will have on a messageboard, although that might be a gross error on my part. To say that Green Day make you "jig with reckless abandon" makes me laugh. Out loud. Especially following your phillistine comments.

Oh, and by the way, how can I actually respond to "your questions" when you don't even use the correct punctuation in your post to show that you are actually asking a question? Dad.
 
The new single is horrible, but i shall reserve judgement until i've heard the album in full, although i dont hold much hope for it seeing as that one song sounRAB like an American Idiot reject.
 
wow....a green day thread that didnt turn into a genre argument.. what an accomplishment.......good job guys.

i agree with Phish..their image has been skewed just because of their new album. so what..? everyones gonna go hate them because of one crappy over played song off of one crappy overplayed album??? they do have about 5 other albums that have good songs on them. everyone says lately that they sold out, but .....well.....sold out has nothing to do with it.
 
Why should it be deleted. For your satisfaction? Despite what you all think, there are Green Day fans and you're going to have to learn to respect it. Everyone on this forum can trash and slam Green Day, in their opinion, and merabers are also just as capable to talk about how much they like them. There is no reason why this thread should be deleted.
In my opinion, Green Day is a phenominal band. Their old stuff, back to 1039 smoothed out slappy hours & insomniac & dookie, are great. As time went on, lyrically, they just blew their last few albums.
Just because you all want to be tough and say OH GREEN DAY SUCKS doesnt mean anything. You have to admit you own some kind of copy of dookie or some kind of song from it. That album was almost essential in every household in the early 90's.
You can sit here and trash Green Day as you well please, but the diffrence on opinons is not going to get this thread deleted.
