The Official Green Day Thread

Actually I have a friend who went the other way. He was into sort of rock music, and since this other kid started bringing his walkman in, he went toward the DMX sort of trash that this forum doesn't deserve to have messages posted about. I have been into punk for many a year, and before that preferred the Beatles/The Who sort of stuff that my Dad listened to. Still like them, but not as much as GREEN DAY!!! and Sum 41's old stuff. PUNK ROCK er.... ROCKS!!!

Hah I want to do that one day.. The salt thing.

And anyway, Im sure he's said what he has against Green Day before, they've been on these forums constantly for a while now..

I think you are confusing Jibber with me.

Ok i dont like his solo stuff, though The Six Wives Of Henry VIII wasnt too bad.

However his work with Yes, David Bowie, The Strawbs and Black Sabbath is teh sex.

Lyrically, Billie Joe is pretty underrated. I mean, he's not phenomenal or anything, but I'd go so far as to call "Longview" lyrical genius.

Not in like a "deep" Pink Floyd kind of way, but the song is clever, and I think if you're a teenage male, at some point in time that song very well could have been your theme song. Dookie wasn't like these new banRAB like All Time Low, where they're just catering towarRAB their obnoxious teenage audience. Green Day really were just apathetic ****ing losers with nothing better to do than masturbate and smoke pot. All day long.

It came through in their songwriting in the best kind of way. Of course, then they grew up and their music took on new forms, but you gotta love Dookie.

Have not listened but I have a feeling they have realized how much money they made off American idiot and are going to go as commercial as possible.
Don't hate them though.

no rage friend, more like rolling of eyes, people like don are not enough to upset me....idiots infuriate me ( read holdyoualways ), don is not an idiot, he's just a newbie....
