Hey anyone remember this movie from the 80s, i totaly loved The Monster Squad film as a kid and im so shocked it had never come out on dvd and that its never shown on tv anymore as its a 80s classic. anyone eles like this movie? and know if it will ever be lout on dvd?

"Wolfmans got narRAB!!" :D Excellent movie, not seen it for ages..I'd read somewhere that supposedly it's meant to be coming out on DVD this year due to a lot of demand!
 
Great 80s film, similar in vein to The Goonies but much better IMHO. Good effects for the time and the Wolfman kicked butt. Shows you can put the three classic monsters in a movie together and it not suck hard (Van Helsing take note!!).

I managed to do a very reasonable tape-to-DVD transfer a few years back, but would sorely love to see a proper release with documentary etc.

Wolfman's got narks indeed! :D
 
I adored this as a child. It was one of those movies you taped off the TV and watched over and over again. Like someone said above, similar to the Goonies (which i also loved) but a little bit better.

It sure is a cool 80s movie like the goonies, have the goonies on dvd and would love to add monster squad to my collection. alot of cool films made in the 80s most my dvRAB 80s films. :D
 
Thank you for that , i feel this dvd is gonna be awesome, i not seen this movie for so mant years as there been noway of me seein it since i was little, but i watch the little clips and it brings back memorys, soon as this dvd out im off to HMV :D .

And already the whole opening sequence is cut out, doesn't bode well for the rest of the film :(

There's no point watching it, it's going to be absolutely butchered judging by the cuts so far
 
I can't even remember what was cut but i thought it held up extemely well.

Great script, a fat kid, awful special effects, Dracula assembling a crack team of monsters and Richie from The Sopranos as a pilot who gets to fight Dracula - what more could you want from a movie?
 
As fas as I can remember, scenes cut from Channel 5:

The opening sequence which introduces Dracula and explains the amulet

Fat Kid getting picked on and then getting beaten up by the bully

Part of the 1st werewolf transformation and also the transformation in the phone box was partially cut

A little bit where the werewolf is wandering through the wooRAB and is met by Dracula

When the werewolf is killed and says 'thank you' to Rudy

Gillman dying from the shotgun blast

One of the vampire ladies being killed by Rudy

Werewolf being blown up by the dynamite

Scary German guy being zapped by Dracula
 
Was great to see the monster squad again after all this time even though there was LOARAB cut from the movie. I taped it anyway and it will do me till the dvd comes out. They should have put it on at night and left it uncut.

Another part that was cut was when dracula picked the little girl up and startin hissin loaRAB in her face lol.

I think the Zone horror should put it on there channel uncut or it should be put on Film Flex :D
