The Mist

Because it's the season of the 'blockbusters'. Why a couple of films have to take up five screens.....it seems to be a total waste!

I had to go to an alternative cinema instead of my local Cineworld to see 'The Mist' therefore couldn't use my unlimited pass!
 
I liked it even though there's no embarrassing Stephen King cameo appearance.
It's a pretty straightforward adaptation benefiting greatly from a scenery-chewing performance by Marcia Gay Harden as a religious nutter.
The ending has caused some debate but I find Thomas Jane's uncanny and distracting resemblance to Christopher Lambert much more irritating.:)
 
Just watched this film tonight, and wow- had me hooked to the screen all the time, i didnt even realise how long it was, only the sixth sense has grabbed me like that.
So much atmosphere in it, the acting was excellent, ok the fx was a bit ropey, but in a way i found that better as it didnt overshadow the cast,


And that ending, superb, i sorta guessed what was coming it but still shocked me completely when it happened

8 out of 10, not a blockbuster but gotta be one of the most memorable films ive seen in a long while
 
woo hoo scrub that they have now decided to show the mist this week ( a few weeks late:eek:) I was shocked and surprised but very excited about seeing it this evening now:):):):):)

woo hoo guys i got to see it it was worth the wait and wow the twist at the end loved it love d it loved it. I can re read this thread now and know what people are talking about.

just glad my cinema decided to show it:)
 
I enjoyed the subwoofer moment the creature shakes the building... seemed so real. However that was the only good sound effect.

A good movie.
 
My partner and I watched this last night, being a massive King fan I'm usually weary of the movie adaptations. Must say though I really enjoyed this. It kept us both hooked till the end. I also couldnt stop thinking of how much Thomas Jane looked like Christopher Lambert. I kept expecting him to say "There can be only one "

I thought the ending was great, infact I thought it was the best bit of the movie :)
 
Saw it yesterday. I thought it would be better. Liked it in parts but overall a little bit disappointed. The ending had a message. But by then I kind of grew tired of it. It almost felt like a TV film.

Stephen King directed a film kind of similar about trucks being taken over by a supernatural force and trapping people in a gas station. I liked that better.

It's NOT bad. But... Hey, watch John Carpenter's The Fog (kick @ss ending! :))
 
i loved the sesame street gag, it was a short break in the tension of the film. I would have liked them all to survive, but hey M nighyt shaymalan take note this is how films with twist should be:):)


really liked this film and glad got to see it on the big screen at long last:)
