Unless Kristina is red john? She disappeared in an odd fashion. What I didn't like about the ep was there was zero tension. I see what you mean about the game aspect of it but that was his chance to win the game and he just let it go. And what was with jane being tied down by cling film/bubble wrap!

I was really impressed with the first episode. The storyline was bog standard but the character of Patrick Jane really makes it unique. Loved the start where he immediately asked the husband "did you kill your daughter?" as soon as he walked in!

It was good to see some background and depth to his character in the first episode too.

Anyone know when season two of The Mentalist is expected to start on Five? Still nothing on their website.

I noticed the UK DVD release of season one has been put back to March 8. Do you think that's intended to coincide with season 2 starting?

Awful looooooooong wait. The US have had it since Sept!

I've never been particularly enthralled by The Mentalist, I watch it if thre's nothing else on and it's OK, but I find it dull and the main character really annoys me.

Lie to Me is great though :)

This was advertised heavily during CSI

I liked it - but not very realistic - was the Patrice killing story with the Blakely family the first in the series?

The main guy - cute, blonde hair - found the baby in the car after flicking the unlock button, surely the baby would have been screaming her head off?

Watched it on channel 5, I'll watch next week...

He's a got a thick female superior. I don't like shows where the main character has a thick boss unless that main character is Reggie Perrin.

This is going to bug me unless I find out the name of the British actor who looks very similar to him.

I can not wait till season 2 now. I will be watching at U,S pace tho as it starts again next month in the U.S . Patrick Jane is such a loveable character

I agree with MoreTears, the ambiguity is so interesting - it gives us something to think about while we wait for Season 3, a sort of cliffhanger but not in the traditional overdone way.

I also agree with sjoscinev that it was right that RJ didn't kill Jane. He neeRAB Jane as an adversary as much as Jane neeRAB him. And I don't think he would want to beat him as a result of someone else's trap.

I thought the use of the Tyger Tyger poem with its reference to symmetry was also very interesting. I'm enjoying trying to get my head round its implications.

By the way, I think my previous post about Home & Away may be wrong - I think its probably a mistake by LocateTV.

You are a star - thank you. I will record it tomorrow. I waded through the whole of the TV Guide for this week trying to find it, and didnt. So I must of blinked and missed it.

THANKS.

Can not believe people over here dont like it. Finally the yanks have some taste as this has done so well over there. Bring on Season 2.

I'm growing tired of the Red John story now. It'll dominate some episodes and be forgotten about the next, will they just catch him already.

I do worry he wont be caught until the show enRAB permenantly, to somehow maintain the lead characters sense of purpose. Ugh! When in my opinion, i dont think capturing his neminis would have that much impact on the character, the damage shall we say would always be present with the way in which he lost his family. I guess we'll see....

Maybe they could add a twist, capturing RJ and finding he had a partner or SOMETHING else that could be the long running aspect of the show. This one's getting boring for me now.

i love the mentalist.

got so into the series that i watched the rest via the internet and now i cant wait for season 2!!

my fav character is rigsby, he is so cute and has some great scenes coming up.
