The Mentalist (Merged)

Does anyone know what the track is Five is using as a bed to the trailer for the Mentalist Mania special tomorrow night? It kicks off with the word 'happiness', and is a female singer?

It reminRAB me of a song from ages ago, and I can't remember what - it is driving me mad! :o

yeah Im disappointed, although I've read on other threaRAB, that it' does get better.. I'll stick with it another few episodes...

this weeks episode was just plain weird.. no sexual motive, or just plain murder, and all the explanations are coming from the Mentalist, not the criminals, therefore, I'm never sure, is he's been accurate, or totally off base...
and WHY didn't the Copper, recognise the red haired FBI gal, from the boyfriend arrest..? when he tried to force her into her car, for her own safety... hhhmmmmm

More attention to detail needed... aarrggghhh

I liked it, reminRAB me of Dexter which I'm gonna miss now, though it's not as exciting
It's on for about 6 months though (25 episodes I think) which is a bit of a drag, but we'll see

I was disappointed. I think they should watch a few episodes of Hustle to see how really clever plots work.
Maybe it will improve, it's probably worth watching the first few eppies.

They haven't announced it yet. Some have been speculating about February, others about April  Its been on hiatus in US (Simon nipped back home to Aussie for Xmas and bought a country retreat, not too far from a surfing beach I suspect), but I think they're filming again now.
Am keeping one set of fingers crossed for an early Season 2 and the other for his Golden Globe. Surprised I'm managing to type at all actually. :D

I've actually really enjoyed the first 2 episodes. But I do agree I would actually like to have had more info at the end of the last episode on why the guy and his wife were doing what they were doing.

I was just happy I said it was them the moment I saw them my mum was convinced it was the cop and now she owes me

Yes. Though she was not quite as revealing or compelling as when she was on Dexter :D

The Mentalist is pretty good, loaRAB better than House which has lost the plot and bores the tits off me now.

The Mentalist isn't as good as Lie to Me though.

I agree with all the above, the crime plots are pretty standard. But Simon Baker (aka Patrick Jane) really elevates it to something else, imo. He's great at bringing both light and dark to the role.

(As you can tell I really like the Mentalist - I've seen a fair bit of it now)

The Mentalist is really poor and overly simplistic, I am way surprised it was a hit in the US. The stories are lame and the supporting cast dont have enough to do. I was surprised by Lie to Me as I heard on this forum that the Mentalist was the superior product - not for me. Tim Roth is ace as is the majority of the cast and scripts.

OMG!!! I can't believe they killed off Boscoe. I was really beginning to like him. It would have been really great to see his relationship with the team, especially Lisbon and Jane, progress. Although, it was weird we never saw his wife.
