The Mars Volta

Deloused is amazing...I thought Amputechture was a let down, but still better than a lot of the crap out there now. The Bedlam In Goliath seems to have gotten them back on track.
 
Just started listening to Bedlam, and I'm liking it more and more. Better than Amputechture. Deloused is simply the best, and the easiest to listen to if you've never heard MV before.

They're definitely a band that you don't like right away, but it takes a while to get into it.
 
gosh... everyone has a right to their own opinions, but i just don't see how you didn't like seeing them live. it's utter bliss for me.

they will be in my town in a few weeks. i can't wait.

smell that? that is sarcasm son, nothing in the world smells like that.

you see, at the drive in is the same band as mars volta. i was joking. perhaps if you put down the crack pipe and read the part where i say "but seroiusly" you might have understood it. then again, perhaps you wouldn't have, as sarcasm is difficult to understand. either way, i know they are not crap, i like at the drive in.
 
ok, they are not EXACLTY the same, but the main members are the same, so to me, for all intents and purposes, they are the same band.
 
Not really sure how I feel about Mars Volta. I know a bunch of people who are really into them, but I haven't heard enough of their stuff to really be that interested, though I did like the few things I did hear.
 
Good group, if only a bit silly at times.
Definitely one of the big noteworthy Prog groups floating around these days.
My favorite album by them is Amputechture, Bedlam being a close second.
Very impressed by the new album.
 
Having the same members doesnt make it the same band. A sound is what makes a band. The sound of At the Drive End and Mars Volta are extremely different which is what makes them a different band.

Foo Fighters has mostly the same members of Nirvana, yet, they are very different banRAB.
