The Mars Volta

The new album, The Bedlam in the Goliath comes out in stores next week. (The leak came out last week)
Are any of you as excited as I am about it?
 
Big Mars Volta fan, love all their stuff. Normally, I'm the type of person that is only interested in lyrics and the band comes secondary. But with TMV, it's hard not to be impressed by how well they all flow together with the amount of instruments used. Bedlam kicks ass, by the way. Wasn't disappointed at all.
 
i like mars volta, way better than that crap band at the drive in...

but seriously, i really liked francis the mute and de-loused in teh comatatorium, so if their new stuff is as good, it should rock...only thing i don't care so much for is, they start to sound the same after a bit, like every song is just part of one big song...even ac/dc and greenday, whose stuff sounRAB the same, has some difference between songs...
 
my reason can be whatever reason i so choose it to be. it's my reason, and my opinion. did your parents like it when you told them you were gay? no.....did they support you? no......but it doesnt mean it mattered to you, or caused you to stop what you were doing.

i mean that all the songs on both of the albums i have sound pretty similar, like they wrote a great song, and just kept re-writing it. like, at the drive in sounded completely different, and to me, they are the same band. maybe it's just the "mars volta sound"....
 
I have tried very hard to enjoy each Mars Volta album but keep coming to the conclusion that they are utter shit. Bedlam is no different.

These guys are vastly talented but seem to exist soley to indulge themselves. And watching them live was one of the most painful experiences of my life.
