The Gulf oil leak day 37

That is such a stupid premise. Of course when there's a crisis there will be politics. That's the whole idea surrounding a crisis. To make sure it never happens again. And guess what...people often have philosophically different opinions on how to do that.

The whole "well never let a good crisis get in the way of politics" line was stupid when Rham said it...and it's stupid when people repeat it as if they expect politics not to be involved during a crisis.

edit: My point was that I don't think the main focus right now is political....it's more like "fix the fucking problem". The taxes issue is a separate situation.

I was looking at some pictures the other day (can't find them atm) showing entire oil tunnels underwater. It was pretty insane.

Why not focus on the "political" and the "blame game"? I mean BP is trying everything they know, and the government doesn't have any suggestions.

So why not have a little fun now?

there is a lost h-bomb located somewhere within 20 miles of me

however for us to live the lives that we live some negatives are going to come from it. live your life without any petroleum based products or you are a fucking hypocrite.

isnt there any way for the fisherman out there to collect some of the oil in the water? lots of money floating out there

The question is, is oil really worth drilling for near our shores?

If we hate brown people so much, then lets just continue to let them destroy their own environment?

By over-regulating, do you mean hiring inspectors from the drilling platform/well operators, having said inspectors accept lavish gifts of sporting event tickets, fishing excursions, and vacations, having said inspectors spend their time on duty surfing for porn and sharing illegal drugs with co-workers, and having the MMO not do any oversight on the inspectors?

Or do you mean something else?
