Its good when you watch the movie on the dvd with the actors commentary turned on, at the start of the commentary you see them all sat at a table the cast alot older, then it goes to the film and your hear them talking about the movie as you watch it, its so cool. :D

' Heeyyyyyyyyyyyy you guysssssssssssss" ;)

I found myself watching this movie today and all the way through i was saying"my god this is rubbish"yet i still watched it all the way through lol go figure
(does that mean i secretly liked it lol?)

Absolutley LOVE the goonies, always brings back feel good memories. I especially love Cindy Laupers track on it. Can't remember what its called but anytime I hear it, I just think... GOONIES!! :) Absolutely fantastic !!

So there you go guys, my first ever post on rabroad... btw you should all feel honoured I posted here first... as I'm going to be famous on this soon :D

It's 12 because of the hanging scene at the start. Despite the fact that we know the man isn't dead, (as we see how he's faking it shortly before his body is discovered), it still shows a man hanging, supposedly for real in the film, with no support apart from his neck.

It neeRAB a higher classification for 3 reasons:

- to stop children from either thinking it is real and distressing them,
- the BBFC fears that children will try to copy it, with disasterous results,
- and it also shows the man looking relaxed while he's doing it, which is wrong, as it is misleading children into thinking that hanging is a pain free process and is acceptable.

((I think I read the BBFC guidelines a bit too much a few weeks ago!!))

Paddy :D

Haha yeah id say you like it really lol, Its a fun movie , i love it even more cause it reminRAB me of my childhood when me and my frienRAB wanted to be the goonies lol ;) .

Cool Simmy welcome :D . The name of that music track your talking about from the goonies is called good enough, The full music video for that is on the DVD aswell ;) .

The Goonies is on BBC 1 a few days after Christmas, so set your videos if you won't be up at about 10 or 11am. I can almost safetly bet it will be cut though, so maybe get the DVD for Christmas if you really want to see it!

Paddy :D

Sometimes I wonder if I hadn't watched this movie as a kid would I like it as much as I do? I have a friend who never watched it when she was younger (the only person I know who's never seen it) and she thinks she won't like it because she's too old now.

But I will ALWAYS watch this movie when it plays on TV. Ro-cky ROAD! :D

I thought Tim Burton's Batman was the first ever twelve certificate and that was released after 1985. I could of course be completely wrong, this is based entirely on my memory; a resource even less reliable than the internet.

My point being, wouldn't The Goonies have been re-certified because the 12 classification didn't exist when it was released.

Interesting the actor who played Chunk seems to have become the most successful (outside the industry) becoming a lawyer and attending a good college. Maybe Corey Feldman should have done something else instead of desperately clinging to his fame. Martha Plimpton is a great actress mind v underrated.

In the UK at least BAtman was the first ever 12 rated cinema release. I remember this very clearly as I was 11 when I went to see it and my mum made a joke that I couldn't go (of course I went anyway). There was also a lot of stuff in the press at the time about Batman being the first film to be given a 12 certificate in the UK so Weekend at Bernies must have come out after it.

On the Goonies fron so this isn't O/T. I bought the DVD as soon as it came out as I love this film and also wished that I was a Goonie when I was kid.

I think they should do a sequel and have all the original characters grown up and their children becoming the second round of Goonies after hearing all about their parents adventures. This way it wouldn't need to involves SLoth, Mama or One Eyed Jack, they could have a whole new Adventure. It would be so cool, and get a whole new generation of Children wanting to be Goonies.

To keep the authenticity it would have to be written by the same team and directed by Richard Donner.

I have been searching for a Uncut Copy of the goonies, Ive seen Old posts In many forums where people have found copys like this but they all are vary old. Im Despretly searching for this copy if anyone still has a copy and would be willing to copy it for me I would gladly pay for the Tape and shipping cost aswell as pay the person for there trouble's. Im not a Collector Im a lifetime goonies fan and this is the holy grail of movies for me.
