The Goode Family canceled

I liked This Just In. .

Freak Show was horrid, it really upset me to know David Cross (who I normally love) could create such an atrocity. It makes me feel better to think it was the other people involved with it that made it crappy.

It's a shame what network television has become, especially with Animation. Personally, I only saw the premiere episode of the Goode Family and thought it had potential.

There has been a trend of cancelled animated shows making a comeback, starting with Family Guy and later Futurama, both which were brought back to life thanks to their ratings on Adult Swim and DVD sales.

Personally, I think ABC is not the best place to have animated sitcoms to begin with. Anyone remember when ABC premiered the Critic? It originally aired on ABC and was cancelled all to quickly and found its way on Fox shortly after.

Here's hoping that the Goode Family finds their way on Comedy Central and NOT Fox.

Meh. Seems expected.

I think they played the "Hippie" angle far too much for their own worth. In King of the Hill, while the characters were at the other spectrum, the show had a sense of moderation that made them more nuanced and not caricatures. Here, we mostly have that while not having much of a universe or similar neighborhood and disposition to build off of.

All I had to do was see that in the little lower-third promos they ran during "Wipeout", and I knew this show wasn't for me. That "vegan = good, carnivore = bad" joke managed to be hammered into the ground AND distract me from what I was watching. When you see a show that makes "King of the Hill" look subtle in its attempts at satire, you know it's not long for this world.

Possibly finding a new angle for the Goode Family if there's any indication of pitching the series to another network, if he isn't already developing another series. I haven't seen enough of the Goode Family to give my opinion on the show, but if the show was lackluster from the get-go, it was destined to fail.
